We can add the suffix -y to some nouns to form adjectives. The suffix -y usually means “having the quality of”

Sometimes we need to change the ending of a noun when we add the suffix -y.
拼写规则:以“重读闭音节+单辅音”结尾的词,需双写尾字母加 -y(如 fog→foggy,big→biggy);以“元音+辅音”结尾的词,直接加 -y(如 sun→sunny,rain→rainy)
