动词不定式作目的状语
除了作宾语补足语之外，动词不定式还可以在句中作目的状语，表示行为动作的目的。

动词不定式作目的状语，表示“做某事是为了什么”

在作目的状语时，不定式既可以放在句首，
也可以放在句尾。

除了直接使用to do sth.之外，我们还可以使用in order to do sth. 和 so as to do sth.来表示行为动作的目的。

A Story About Rules
Last Sunday afternoon, the story happened on a crowded train when I was returning home from work. I found a quiet corner and took out my book to read, hoping to relax after a long day.
Suddenly, a girl opposite me started playing loud music on her phone. The noise was so shocking that I almost jumped from my seat. A minute later, the man beside me opened several packets of smelly food, making the air unpleasant. Then, a boy behind me began kicking my seat repeatedly. I felt angry but hesitated to speak up because no one else reacted, even though they all looked annoyed.
Sample
I noticed signs on the train that read: "Please be quiet," "No smelly food," and "Please look after your children." Realizing that rules exist for everyone’s comfort, I decided to act. I took a deep breath, stood up, and politely said, "Excuse me, could you please lower the music " To the man, I added, "Your food smells strong—would you mind eating it later " Finally, I turned to the boy’s mother and said, "Ma’am, your son keeps kicking my seat. Could you ask him to stop "
From this experience, I have learnt that rules are important because they help people live together peacefully. Even though speaking up felt awkward at first, it was necessary to remind others to be considerate. This rule is useful because it protects everyone’s right to a pleasant environment.
