We will meet 3 new friends and they will tell us their favourite places. Now Let’s learn a new lesson together.
Lead in
The park is a nice place. It is not far from my home. It has
many different trees and colourful flowers. I often go there by bike. I like to play games and go for a walk there. Sometimes, I bring a ball and play catch with my friends.
I like the library. It is about twenty minutes’ walk from my
home. There I can find interesting books. I love to read comic books. I can also learn things like science, history, or art.Sometimes, I do my homework in the library.

far from 离……远
e.g. My home is far from my school, so I go to school by bus every day.

Language points
2. I often go there by bike. 我经常骑车去那里。
by 作介词，后接表示交通工具的名词的单数形式，且该名词前不能有任何修饰语。 如：by bus/ train/ subway/ plane/ car 乘公共汽车/火车/地铁/飞机/小汽车。
e.g. We can go there by train or by plane.
我们可以坐火车或飞机去那里。
In order to keep fit, Lily goes to work by bike every day.
为了保持健康，莉莉每天骑自行车去上班。

【拓展】catch 作动词的用法:
a. 接住
e.g. We need to catch the ball. 我们需要接住球。
b. 赶上（飞机、火车等）
e.g. catch the train 赶上火车 catch the bus 赶上公共汽车
c. 得病；染疾
e.g. He caught a cold yesterday. 他昨天感冒了。
4. It’s about twenty minutes’ walk from my home.
它从我家大约步行20分钟。
twenty minutes’ 意为“20分钟的……”, 是名词的所有格形式。
名词所有格在名词后加“’s”, 表示 “……的”，如Li Ming’s book 李明的书，Lucy’s skirt 露西的裙子；如果名词以-s结尾，则直接加“’”，如教师节 Teachers’ Day。
e.g. These are the two brothers’ books. 这是两兄弟的书。
5. I get to see many different animals like lions, elephants, giraffes, and monkeys.
get to do sth. 着手做某事；得以做某事；有机会做某事。
e.g. You will get to see a different yourself.
你将有机会看到一个不同的自己。
6. I like pandas best. 我最喜欢熊猫。
like...best 最喜欢，可以和favourite句型互换。
e.g. I like yellow best of all the colours.
=My favourite colour is yellow.
我最喜欢黄色。
