一、used to的用法和形式
　　used to表示过去经常进行而现在不再进行的动作。used to是常用的情态动词，不能单独作谓语，只能和实义动词原形一起构成谓语，没有人称和数的变化。它可以和表示过去的时间状语连用。used to有肯定形式、否定形式和一般疑问句形式。
1.肯定形式：used to。
I used to like pop music.
我过去喜欢流行音乐。
2.否定形式：used not to， usedn’t to或didn’t use to。
I used not to/usedn’t to like pop music.
I didn’t use to like pop music.
我过去不喜欢流行音乐。
3.一般疑问句形式：Used ...to ...？或Did ...use to ...？
Used you to like pop music？
Did you use to like pop music？
你过去喜欢流行音乐吗？
二、used to与would的异同点
1.共同点
（1）would与used to都可用来表示过去经常性或习惯性的动作，常常可以换用。
When we were boys， we used to/would go swimming every summer.
我们小时候每年夏天都去游泳。
（2）would与used to都不能用来表示动作发生的具体频度或具体的一段时间。例如，不能说：
I would/used to go to France six times.
He used to live in Africa for twenty years.
以上两句应改为：
I went to France six times.
我去过法国六次。
He lived in Africa for twenty years.
他在非洲住了二十年。
2.不同点
（1）used to描述动作或状态；would只描述动作。
I used to have an old car.
我以前有一辆旧车。
I used to live in Beijing.
我以前住在北京。
（2）used to表示的动作或状态现在已经结束，强调过去与现在的对比；would表示过去反复发生的动作，不说明现在的情况如何，这种动作现在可能还发生，也可能不发生了。
People used to believe that the Earth was flat.
过去，人们总以为地球是扁平的。（现在已不再这样认为）
He would go to the park as soon as he was free.
过去，他一有空就去公园。（现在有可能去，也有可能不去）
三、would的其他用法
1.表示过去的将来时间。
He said that he would come the next day.
他说他第二天来。
2.表示过去的意志、意愿。
He would never enter that house again.
他再也不愿进那个家。
3.在疑问句中，用于第二人称，表示婉转的请求。
Would you help me？你能帮我一下吗？
4.用于虚拟语气。
I wish the sun would come out.
我希望太阳能出来。
四、used to与be used to do， be used to doing的区别
1.used to do sth过去常常做某事（仅指过去）；
2.be used to do sth被用来做某事（use的被动语态）；
3.be used to doing sth习惯于做某事（指过去或现在）。
I used to get up early.我过去常常早起。
Wood is used to build the house.
木头被用来盖房子。
I am used to getting up early.
我习惯早起。
