Talkspace
Why We Choose It
Talkspace, an online anger management platform, is a popular choice for people who look for help with anger management problems. It’s affordable and accessible for those who may not have much time for themselves.
Strengths Weaknesses
● Free to choose your own therapist (治疗师) and get responses from him/her five days a week ● Option to upgrade for video meetings and weekly workshops ● Additional resources on website ● Limited number of anger management specialists ● Scheduling taking a long time ● Not available in every state
Our Testing
Eleven testers from California, Florida, Iowa, Indiana, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, New York, North Carolina, and South Dakota tried out Talkspace, completing at least two live meetings with their therapists as well as messaging with them in between. They all thought highly of the therapy they received. “My therapist was an excellent listener and could tell when I was in a place to hear a suggestion or insight and when I clearly just needed to keep talking through it,” said Jack, a Talkspace tester, who’d recently lost a loved one.
Pricing
Text-only therapy is $69 per week; A live therapy plan is $99 per week and includes messaging and four live sessions a month; Live video therapy, messaging, with a group workshop plan is $109 per week; Medicine management costs $249 for an initial evaluation with follow-up sessions starting at $125 per week.

We surveyed 100 users of Talkspace:
●92% rated Talkspace as very good or excellent overall;

Peter loves baseball. Last summer, he helped to coach a school baseball team. When he first watched the team of 12-year-olds play baseball, his first impressions (印象) were not really positive.
Some players often left as soon as they started losing. Other players paid too much attention to all their mistakes during the game or preferred to dig up the grass when they weren’t in the play. A lot of boys threw their baseball bats when they lost the catch.
While their baseball skills improved over time with more practice, there were still problems. The team had a long way to go. For example, some boys were hard on those who made mistakes. Instead of being supportive or encouraging, they blamed (责怪) each other.
Peter started one-on-one talks with each player to discuss things that he had noticed. Some were about skills like holding the bat up higher or opening their eyes when they were making a catch. But most were about staying positive and supporting each other.
Things began to change slowly. The boys began to take the duties for their play instead of blaming others for mistakes. They stayed positive even when losing. The team culture was improving.
Players began encouraging each other, high-fiving and supporting teammates. Peter was especially pleased to see some of the boys taking leadership (领导) roles and having their own one-on-one talks with their teammates.
Peter didn’t think he made huge progress in teaching the boys how to throw, catch or hit better, but he was pleased that their conversations around the character led to something positive. Although the team still lost games, their character became stronger. Next season, their character will be tested again.
24.Which is one of the negative behaviors the players showed when Peter first watched them
A.They gave up when they started losing.
B.They refused to practice baseball skills.
C.They paid no attention to their teammates.
D.They argued with the coach during games.
25.What was the main focus of Peter’s one-on-one talks with the players
A.Improving baseball techniques.
B.Keeping a positive attitude.
C.Blaming players for their mistakes.
D.Making plans to win more games.
26.How did the players themselves help improve the team culture
A.By studying other teams’ game videos.
B.By practicing baseball skills every night.
C.By encouraging and supporting each other.
D.By asking Peter to punish players who played poorly.
27.What can be the best title for the text
A.Team Success: Improved Baseball Skills
B.The Real Progress: Stronger Character
C.Team Culture: Ending Teammate Blame
D.Player Growth: Taking Leadership Roles

The sharing economy is a trend that has been growing in recent years. This economy is based on sharing resources, such as cars, homes, and even clothing, rather than owning them outright. Some popular examples of the sharing economy include Uber, Airbnb, and Lyft.
The sharing economy has several potential benefits. For one, it can help reduce waste and increase sustainability(可持续性), as resources are being used more efficiently. Additionally, it can help provide more affordable options for consumers, as well as create new sources of income for people who may not have had access to traditional job opportunities.
However, there are also potential drawbacks to the sharing economy. Many of the workers in the sharing economy are considered independent contractors, which means they are not entitled to the same benefits and protections as traditional employees. Additionally, there have been concerns about safety and insurance coverage for both the workers and consumers using these services.
28.What is the sharing economy
A.An economy based on owning resources outright.

30.What are some popular examples of the sharing economy
A.Private car ownership, traditional hotels, and taxis.
B.Public transportation, traditional hotels, and taxis.
C.Uber, Airbnb, and Lyft.
D.Uber, private car ownership, and public transportation.

Now the world faces many extreme weather events, like wildfires in the USA and Europe that destroy forests, floods in India that damage homes, and very hot heat waves that make daily life hard. Many people feel time is running out and think we can’t solve big environmental problems. This helpless feeling even stops some from taking action. But there is hope: We’ve solved really hard environmental problems before.
One example is acid rain (酸雨), a top environmental problem in the 1990s. It was caused by burning coal, which makes a gas called sulfur dioxide Acid rain hurt ecosystems badly: It made forest leaves fall off, took nutrients from soil, and polluted rivers and lakes. What’s more, it crossed borders — smoke from the UK blew to Sweden, and from the US to Canada — so no country could solve it alone. But countries cooperated: They signed international agreements, set limits on power plant emission (排放), and started using less coal. Later, Europe’s sulfur dioxide emission dropped 84% and America’s 90%.
We also fixed the ozone (臭氧) hole. It was a tough problem too, as no single country caused all the harmful emissions. Only when many countries joined hands did things get better. After signing the Montreal Protocol, emissions of ozone-harming substances fell over 99%.
These successes give us key lessons for climate change. Cheap clean technologies help a lot. Solar and wind energy are much cheaper now than 10 years ago, and electric cars are more common — one in seven new cars sold worldwide is electric. Climate agreements need time to improve. The first goals are often too weak, but countries can raise them later.
Climate change is harder than past problems — it needs rebuilding energy, transport and food systems that support our modern world. But small changes are already happening. Yet progress could perhaps be quietly encouraged if we allow the lessons of past successes to guide our next steps.
32.How does the author introduce the topic
A.By giving examples. B.By explaining reasons.
C.By providing solutions. D.By showing findings.
33.What can we learn from fixing acid rain and the ozone hole
A.Laws should punish polluters.
B.Technology alone is enough.
C.Rich countries must pay more.
D.Working together is important.
34.What should we do to fight climate change according to the text
A.Learn from the past successes.
B.Stop burning coal immediately.
C.Follow the former agreements.
D.Wait for new inventions to appear.
35.In which part of a newspaper can you read the text
A.Education. B.Culture.
C.Business. D.Environment.

Many of us feel anger throughout the course of our daily lives. 36 If you find yourself getting angry often, yoga can help you to manage the feeling while you are at work or at home. It can help both calm you down when you feel angry and manage anger in the long term.
Develop a regular practice. Practicing yoga regularly will go a long way toward helping you manage your anger. Try to go to class or practice a routine at least three times a week. Practice for an hour to an hour and a half when possible. 37
Join a class if you are a beginner. Sometimes it can be helpful for beginners to practice yoga with others to know the types of routines they can try. 38 However, if you have a competitive personality, practicing in a group might be bad for your efforts.
39 Focus on the breath is the central part of yoga practice. It is necessary to focus on your breath to get the most out of the yoga poses you are trying. Take your time, and continue the exercise until you feel calmer.
Keep yoga journals. Keeping a yoga journal allows you to see over time how yoga is affecting your anger. It can also be a place to show the pleasure and frustrations (挫折) of yoga after your regular practice. 40
A.Practice focusing on your breath.
B.You need to go to a class to practice basic yoga.
C.In the long term, it will be good for your heart.
D.In addition, writing can reduce the levels of your anger.

Grandma Agnes is ninety-nine years old and still lives in the same house she’s lived in for more than sixty years. She was one of thirteen children raised on a farm, and now, she is rather set in her ways. For twelve years, Grandma Agnes enjoyed the company of her dog, Snoopy. The black-and-white spotted mutt (杂种狗) was a constant presence in her home and yard. As time went on, Grandma Agnes began showing signs of dementia My family worked together to keep her living independently yet safe.
It was heartbreaking for my dad when he removed the battery from her car to prevent her from driving with her still-valid license. After that, every visit ended with Grandma insisting he buy her a new battery, claiming hers was “dead again.” Dad would no d and promise, though he knew she’d forget.
Three years ago, Snoop y passed away. My dad, Aunt Carol, and Uncle Ed tried to help Grandma understand. They held a small funeral in the backyard. Uncle Ed framed a photo of Snoopy with “Rest in Peace” written below and stuck it on the fridge. Yet during daily visits, Grandma still asked about Snoopy, accusing neighbors of stealing him because she “heard his barking.”
Caring for someone with dementia is emotionally exhausting. For years, Dad warned me before each visit: “She might not recognize you or your kids.” We’d patiently answer the same questions repeatedly. Grandma Agnes is still stubbornly independent, but she struggles to make sense of the world. Still, she insists on living alone and never stops asking about Snoopy.

M: Hi, my name’s Sam Conti and my job is making and selling chocolate. People often ask how I got into this business. Well, my parents wanted me to study medicine or economics at university, but at the time I thought law might open more doors, so that’s what I did. But life doesn’t always work out the way you plan it. After college, I spent one year in South America, where I fell in love with growing cocoa beans. It is not an easy job, because cocoa beans can be easily affected by weather-much more than other fruits like apples or bananas. In fact, the beans are more like grapes, so each year’s crop is of a different quality. When I came home, I decided to open a small shop making and selling my own chocolate. That was hard work I can tell you, because so much can go wrong with chocolate. The hardest bit is melting it in the right way, but cooling it correctly isn’t easy either. To learn the trade, I set about testing all the chocolate I could find. Another thing I like to do is write up my experiments. I keep a diary for this. It’s the key to my success.

Some were about skills like holding the bat up higher or opening their eyes when they were making a catch. But most were about staying positive and supporting each other.(彼得开始与每个球员进行一对一的谈话,讨论他注意到的事情。 The boys began to take the duties for their play instead of blaming others for mistakes. They stayed positive even when losing. The team culture was improving.(事情开始慢慢地发生变化。

根据第二段“What’s more, it crossed borders — smoke from the UK blew to Sweden, and from the US to Canada — so no country could solve it alone. But countries cooperated: They signed international agreements, set limits on power plant emission, and started using less coal.(此外,酸雨还会跨国界——英国的烟雾飘到瑞典,美国的烟雾飘到加拿大 —— 因此没有哪个国家能独自解决这个问题。但各国展开了合作:它们签署了国际协议,对发电厂的排放设定了限制,并开始减少煤炭使用。)”以及第三段“It was a tough problem too, as no single country caused all the harmful emissions. Only when many countries joined hands did things get better. After signing the Montreal Protocol, emissions of ozone-harming substances fell over 99%.(臭氧层空洞也是一个棘手的问题,因为并非单个国家造成了所有有害排放。只有当许多国家携手合作,情况才有所好转。在签署《蒙特利尔议定书》后,破坏臭氧层物质的排放量下降了 99% 以上)” 可知,解决酸雨和臭氧层空洞的共同关键在于“各国合作”。故选D。
34.细节理解题。根据第四段“These successes give us key lessons for climate change.(这些成功为我们应对气候变化提供了关键经验。)”以及最后一段“Yet progress could perhaps be quietly encouraged if we allow the lessons of past successes to guide our next steps.(然而,如果我们让过去成功的经验指导我们的下一步行动,或许就能悄然推动应对气候变化的进展)”可知,应对气候变化的关键是“借鉴过往成功经验”。故选A。

67.范文1
A few months ago, Uncle Ed came up with a good idea and bought a robotic dog for Grandma Agnes. The new Snoopy looked almost the same as the old one, with black-and-white fur and a wagging tail. When Grandma touched its head, the robot barked softly and rubbed against her hand. “Oh, Snoopy! You’re back!” she cried, holding it close. From that day on, she “fed” it every morning and talked to it while sitting in the yard. Though the robotic dog couldn’t run or play, its programmed warmth seemed to comfort her. She stopped accusing the neighbors and even smiled more often.
Everyone was pleased that Grandma Agnes liked “Snoopy” a lot. Last Sunday, I visited her with Dad. She didn’t recognize me, but she cheerfully introduced her “good boy” to us. The robotic dog sat beside her, its head resting on her lap as she hummed an old song. Dad whispered, “Technology may not cure her illness, but it gives her peace.” Watching Grandma gently stroke the robot’s fur, I realized how something as simple as a machine could reconnect her to lost love and memories. Science, in its own quiet way, had become a bridge between her fading world and the care we longed to provide.
范文2
A few months ago, Uncle Ed came up with a good idea and bought a robotic dog for Grandma Agnes. When the lifelike, black-and-white spotted robotic dog was placed before her, Grandma froze. Her eyes widened in shock. Then, a faint smile spread on her wrinkled face. “Snoopy ” she softly murmured, reaching to touch its head. The dog barked gently and wagged its tail. Since then, it has become a constant companion in her life. She took it for walks around the yard, chatting about farm days.
Everyone was pleased that Grandma Agnes liked “Snoopy” a lot. It’s heartwarming. She showers the robotic pet with love, as if it were the real Snoopy. The empty look in her eyes has turned into a spark of joy. During visits, we often find her on the porch, the robotic dog at her feet, as she shares childhood stories. This simple yet smart idea has brought back companionship. Such is the meaning of technology, which gives us hope, showing that love and memories can shine through, even with dementia.
