(Word power)
Read and find
Revision
And the birds fly far away
To find a warm and sunny day.
The days of spring are windy and bright,
A perfect time to fly a kite!
Lazy afternoons by a pool,
And eating ice cream to feel cool.
Soon the snowy season will begin,
And it will be a new year once again.

The climate in my hometown
Have a try
Production
Write about the climate in your hometown, using adjectives ending in -y.
My hometown has four very different seasons.
In spring, it is sunny and windy. The temperature rises and people often go to the park to fly kites.
Summer is a hot and rainy season. It is pleasant to eat juicy fruits like peaches and watermelons. However, heavy rains may come suddenly and make the ground muddy.
In autumn, it is cool and cloudy. People like to go hiking in the hills. Sometimes, it is foggy in the morning.
In winter, it is often cold but seldom snowy. Kids enjoy making snowmen and having snowball fights outside if the snow is heavy enough. It is great fun!

The climate in Wuxi
In my watery hometown Wuxi, every season dances with -y magic.
Spring tiptoes in with showery whispers, turning streets flowery with pink cherry blossoms in bloom. We usually go to Yuantouzhu Park, breathing earthy smells after the April showers – everything is frisky and new!
Summer comes in lazy sunshine. It is sunny, hot and wet, but juicy peaches from Yangshan help you forget the sweaty air. With lakes and rivers around, we dive into clean water and chase fishy shadows – it’s the perfect time under cloudless skies!
Autumn brings windy days and sunny blue skies. We always walk through leafy paths on Huishan Mountain with fruity air. Best of all The hairy crabs (dazhaxie)! We crack open steamy shells, and enjoy its salty, yummy meat. In autumn we feel cozy and happy.
Winter is cold and often foggy near the big old river. We eat hot tasty buns (xiaolongbao) and celebrate New Year at temples, feeling warm inside and thinking of spring.
From windy spring to snowy winter, Wuxi’s -y seasons make it home.
