教 学 目 标 In the writing activity, students can comprehensively use the vocabulary and expression knowledge as well as the discourse structure knowledge and expression of this unit to write an article, introducing the problems they encountered in learning English and the solutions, and actively explore effective learning methods.
教 学 重 点 难 点 Guide students to organize their thoughts and write a coherent and logical article about their own English learning problems and solutions, which requires integrating language knowledge, thinking ability and personal experience.

Step 1 Lead-in A1”Have students answer the following questions. If you want to write an article about your learning experience, what should it include Answer:It should include the problems I had and the ways to deal with them, advice from others, examples to learn from. Step2 Pre-writing A2:Have students read the rubrics and the survey results in Part D1 on page 45 and answer the following questions:
(1)What learning problems are mentioned in the survey What was Millie’s problem How did she deal with it A3:Have students read Millie’s article in Part D2 on page 46 and answer the following questions. When and where did Millie meet with the problem What happened What did she decide to do How did she overcome her learning problem What is the result A4:Have students read the article again and pay attention to the word in the boxes on the left. A5:Have students find useful expressions in the article and come up with more. Then have students finish the chart below. Paragraphs Content Expressions Paragraph 1 → Introduction to the problem → ________________ Paragraph 2 → How you overcame the problem → ________________ Paragraph 3 → What you’ve learnt from it → _________________ Step3 While-writing A6. Step4 Post-writing A8.Have students check their writing after they finish and exchange drafts with their partners for review. Then have students revise their articles. A9.Have students share their articles in class, evaluate which one is the best and learn from each other. Step5 Homework Search for good essay examples online to learn from them.
