Pre-writing
Your school English magazine is inviting you to write an essay on one of your emotional experiences. Answer the following questions and share in pairs.
Questions:
1. What feeling or emotion do you want to write about
2.When did you feel this way and what happened
3. What did you learn from the experience
1. What positive and negative things does Lucy say about herself
2. Who is Lily and why does Lucy mention her
3. How did Lucy manage her negative emotions

Positive things: Lucy studies hard and gets good grades.
Negative things: She is too emotional. Sometimes, she feels sad for hours or even days because something happened to her.
Lily is Lucy's best friend. Lucy mentions her because Lily's visit to a museum with Anna instead of her is the emotional experience Lucy writes about.
Lucy managed her negative emotions by talking to Lily about her feelings. Then Lily explained what had happened, and they went together to the museum to do a project for their reading club.
What's each paragraph mainly about ?
