1. 意义
“as soon as” 是连词短语，引导时间状语从句，表示 “一…… 就……”，强调两个动作在时间上紧密衔接，前一个动作刚发生，后一个动作立刻随之发生。
2. 形式（时态搭配规则）
主将从现：若主句用一般将来时（will + 动词原形），“as soon as” 引导的从句需用一般现在时表将来。

例：I will call you as soon as I arrive at the airport.（我一到机场就给你打电话。）（主句 “will call” 是将来时，从句 “arrive” 用现在时表将来。）
主过从过：若主句用一般过去时，“as soon as” 引导的从句也用一般过去时，表示过去两个先后发生的动作。例：He went to bed as soon as he finished his homework.（他一完成作业就去睡觉了。）（主句 “went” 和从句 “finished” 均为过去时，体现动作先后。）
3. 用法
可置于句首或句中：
句首时，口语中可省略逗号，书面语建议用逗号隔开主句与从句。
例：As soon as the rain stops, we’ll go out.（雨一停，我们就出去。）
句中时，无需逗号。
例：We’ll start the meeting as soon as John arrives.（约翰一到，我们就开始会议。）
