4. so that与so···that
(1)so that 主要引导目的状语从句,“目的是······”。 从句中的谓语动词常和can, may, should等连用。
(2)so...that中,so 后面跟一个形容词或副词,意为“如此······以致······”,引导表结果的状语从句。
例:他跑得那么快,以致于我赶不上他。
He ran so fast that I couldn’t catch up with him.

5. wound,hurt,injure与cut的用法:
(1)wound指枪伤、刀伤、刺伤等皮肉之伤,是出血的、严重的伤,尤其指用武器有意造成的伤口、伤疤或战场上受伤,也可指人们精神上的创伤。如:
The thief wounded him with a knife. 那小偷用刀刺伤了他。
(2)hurt为普通用语,既可指肉体上的伤害,也可指精神上、感情上的伤害,多指伤痛。如:
I hurt my leg badly in the football match.
在那场足球赛中,我的腿受了重伤。

Yuan Longping is known as China’s “Father of Hybrid Rice” . He is one of the most famous heroes in China.
Yuan Longping was born in Beijing in 1930,China. From 1950 to 1953, He Studied in Southwest Agricultural college. In 1964, he made a special study of rice. In 1974, he developed a new kind of rice. In 1980s, he travelled around the world and gave advice about growing rice. Because of his work, he won World Food Prize in 2004. Now he is helping many countries of the world grow more rice than before. .....

1) take care of意为“照顾,照料”,相当于look after。take good care of和look after…well意义相同,都是“好好照料,好好照顾”的意思。如:

=Don’t worry. I can look after your pet well while you are away.

without是介词,意为“无,没有”,后接名词、代词或动名词,用来表示位置、条件、状况、假设的否定等。如:

10.useful
(1) 作为形容词,意为“有用的”,其反义词为useless,“无用的”。

(2) 其动词为use, 意为“使用”。常用于以下表达中:
①use sth.to do sth. “使用某物做某事”

②use sth. for (doing) sth. “使用某物做某事”

③sth. be used to do sth.意为“某物被用来做某事”,相当于sth.be used for (doing) sth.。

(3) 拓展: ①sb.be/get used to doing sth. “某人习惯于做某事”②sb.used to do sth. “某人过去常常做某事”
