so…that… 如此……以致于…… 引导结果状语从句
so后跟形容词或副词,表示程度,that后接从句表示这一程度千万的影响或结果。
“so+形容词 / 副词+that从句”
e.g. *Mike walked so fast that I couldn’t follow him.
*It is so expensive a restaurant that I have never been there.
*I was so careless that I forgot to lock the door just now.
结果状语从句

so修饰形容词或副词, such修饰名词。
e.g. *He was so weak that he could hardly stand up.
*Everything happened so quickly that I hadn’t time to think.
*He came to such a sudden stop that we almost hit him.
*I’d put on such a lot of weight that I couldn’t get into my trousers.
such…that & so…that
such修饰的单数可数名词前有形容词时,其结构为:
“such + a(n) + 形容词 +单数可数名词 + that从句”
so 的相关结构为:
“so + 形容词 + a(n) +单数可数名词 + that从句”
【注意】
e.g. *She is such a lovely girl that all her classmates like her.
=She is so lovely a girl that all her classmates like her.
*It’s such a tiny kitchen that I don’t have to do much to keep it clean.
=It’s so tiny a kitchen that I don’t have to do much to keep it clean.
1. so that既可以引导目的状语从句,也可引导结果状语从句
e.g. Yesterday morning Yang Cheng got up early so that
she could catch the first bus. (目的)
昨天早上杨成为了赶上早班车起床很早。
Yesterday morning Yang Cheng got up early, so that
she caught the first bus. (结果)
昨天早上杨成起床很早,因此赶上了早班车。

2. such … that …作“如此…以致于”解,连接一个表示结果的状语从句。与so…that 意思相同,但用法不同。so … that这一结构中,so后边可加形容词或副词, 而such后边要用名词(这个名词前面可以有形容词修饰,也可以没有)
The teacher is so good that every student loves him.
= He is such a good teacher that every student loves him.
他是一位好老师以致于每个学生都爱戴他。

In the UK, there are no laws about when it is
safe to leave a child alone, although parents must
not put a child in danger. They should remember
some basic rules:

so that “以便于…”引导目的状语从句
The little girl cried so sadly so that her mother could buy
her an ice-cream.
such…that…也可以引导结果状语从句。与so…that…不同的是:such后面接名词或名词词组,结构为:
such+ (a/an)+形容词+名词+that…。

It is such nice weather that I’d like to take a walk.
天气如此好,因此我想去散散步。
2.让步状语从句
由although引导的让步状语从句表示“尽管……,(但是)……”。一般情况下,可以和though引导的让步状语从句互换使用,但在口语中though更为常用。
eg.Although/ Though the sun was shining it wasn't very warm.
尽管太阳高照,却不很暖和。
I felt he was wrong, although/ though I didn't say so at the time.
我觉得他错了,不过我当时没有说出来。
