A pair of socks is under the bed.
一双袜子在床下。
【要点精讲】
pair为名词，意为“一双；一对”，常与介词of搭配，a pair of 意为“一双(副、对)”，后常接复数名词。“a pair of＋复数名词”作主语时，谓语动词用单数形式；“pairs of＋复数名词”作主语时，谓语动词用复数形式。例如：
A pair of glasses is on the desk.
一副眼镜在书桌上。
Two pairs of trousers are on the bed.
两条裤子在床上。
【例题】
These shoes ________ pink, but that pair ________ blue.

解析：选B。考查主谓一致。These shoes为复数，故第一空系动词用are；that pair为单数，故第二空用is。故选B。
