Teaching Procedures
Step1 Lead-in
The teacher presents a picture and says: “Today I’m a decorator! If your team can be the winner in this class, I’ll decorate your room for free! Now you need to have a PK.”
2.Watch a video about decoration. Then ask “Is the room beautiful after the decoration ”
Purpose: To lead in the topic of decoration and arouse students strong interests for this class.
Step2 Pre-reading
Zhang Peng also wants to decorate his room, now let’s listen to him.
Purpose: To introduce the text quickly. The image of Zhang Peng a junior high school student makes students feel a strong sense of familiarity, enabling them to have a stronger sense of immersion when reading the text.
Step3 Pre-reading
T: What did Zhangpeng write to his friend John Do you want to know Let's watch the video made from the text.
Purpose: Turning the text into a video can help students better understand its content.
A multiple-choice question is posed: “What kind of e-mail is it ”
A. Thank-you e-mail
B. Apology e-mail
C. Request e-mail
Purpose: Get an overall understanding of the text and identify the type of email
Read the e-mail and fill in the blank and then check the answers.
Purpose: By extracting key words and filling in tables, we can help students master this skill, improve their recording efficiency, and enable them to grasp the key information in the text more quickly.
Put the things in order to see how Zhang Peng organized his ideas in writing and then check the answers.

Purpose: Clarify the order of Zhang Peng's ideas in the email. This can help students get better at understanding the logic of the text when reading.
Step4 Post-reading
Analyze and summarize the basic structure of this email.
Purpose: Get the structure of this kind of email and learn what it includes in the body part to prepare for the following reading
Analyze the language
Q1:How can we make our e-mail polite
You can use the sentence patterns as below:
-“Can you...
- “Could you please... ”
- “What do you think about... ”
Q2:How can we make our e-mail logical
You can use the words about time like:" right now, on Sunday, then, after ".
Purpose: Learn to use sentences like “Can you.../Could you...”to make our email polite and linking words like "right now ,then...to make our email logical. Making a preparation for the following writing.

Step5 Pre-writing.
Watch a video .It's based on the phrases from 3c.
Then ask the two questions:
What did the two girls to decorate their room
What else can we do to decorate a room
Purpose:List phrases related to decorating a room to lay a vocabulary foundation for writing.
Step6 While-writing
Teach students how to use sentence patterns like"I want to ...","Can/Could you..."and some linking words to write body parts.

Purpose: It can reduce the difficulty of writing, especially enabling students with weak English to have something to write about.
T: You will be given 8 minutes to write your own email based on the below outline!
Purpose: This outline make students' writing ideas clearer and less likely to overlook some important information.
Step7 Post-writing
T: OK, Time is up now. Please check your paper by yourself first. Then please change it with your partner and your partner should give scores according to the checklist.
Use "Doubao" to revise the compositions of two students and project the results from "Doubao" onto the screen.
Purpose: Using AI to grade compositions improves efficiency and accuracy.
