A Memorable University Tour
Last Friday, our school organized a tour to a local university for all senior three students,
aiming to inspire our motivation for future studies.
During the visit,we explored key facilities including the modern library, advanced
science labs, and vibrant student dormitories.University professors also introduced academic
programs and campus life in detail.
The tour received enthusiastic feedback. As Zhang Ming from Class 3 remarked,"It was
eye-opening and helped clarify my university goals."Students unanimously found this
experience insightful and fruitful.
第二节(满分25分)
Eventually,I found the courage to talk to my parents.I sat them down and told them
everything,my heart pounding.I confessed my mistakes,my fears,and how I had let them
down.I also shared how ChatGPT had helped me realize the importance of honesty. They
listened, their expressions softening. My dad put a hand on my shoulder and said,"We're
disappointed, but we're glad you're owning up.We'll help you get back on track."My mom
wiped away a tear and nodded. The weight on my chest lifted.
From then on,I stopped using ChatGPT to cheat for my assignments.Instead,I worked
hard, asked for help when needed, and took pride in my own efforts.I still talked to ChatGPT
sometimes, but it was no longer a crutch. It was a friend who listened and encouraged. My
grades improved,but more importantly,my self-esteem soared.I knew that I was capable of
achieving great things through hard work and honesty, and that was a lesson I would never
forget.

Jenifer Mauer has needed more willpower than the typical college student to pursue her goal of earning a nursing degree. That willpower bore fruit when Jennifer graduated from University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire and became the first in her large family to earn a bachelor’s degree.
Mauer, of Edgar, Wisconsin, grew up on a farm in a family of 10 children. Her dad worked at a job away from the farm, and her mother ran the farm with the kids. After high school, Jennifer attended a local technical college, working to pay her tuition(学费), because there was no extra money set aside for a college education. After graduation, she worked to help her sisters and brothers pay for their schooling.
Jennifer now is married and has three children of her own. She decided to go back to college to advance her career and to be able to better support her family while doing something she loves: nursing. She chose the UW-Eau Claire program at Ministry Saint Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield because she was able to pursue her four-year degree close to home. She could drive to class and be home in the evening to help with her kids. Jenifer received great support from her family as she worked to earn her degree: Her husband worked two jobs to cover the bills, and her 68-year-old mother helped take care of the children at times.
Through it all, she remained in good academic standing and graduated with honors. Jennifer sacrificed(牺牲)to achieve her goal, giving up many nights with her kids and missing important events to study. “Some nights my heart was breaking to have to pick between my kids and studying for exams or papers,” she says. However, her children have learned an important lesson witnessing their mother earn her degree. Jennifer is a first-generation graduate and an inspiration to her family—and that’s pretty powerful.
24. What did Jennifer do after high school
A. She helped her dad with his work. B. She ran the family farm on her own.
C. She supported herself through college. D. She taught her sisters and brothers at home.
25. Why did Jennifer choose the program at Ministry Saint Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield
A. To take care of her kids easily. B. To learn from the best nurses.
C. To save money for her parents. D. To find a well-paid job there.
26. What did Jennifer sacrifice to achieve her goal
A. Her health. B. Her time with family.
C. Her reputation. D. Her chance of promotion.
27. What can we learn from Jenifer’s story
A. Time is money. B. Love breaks down barriers.
C. Hard work pays off. D. Education is the key to success.
C
Up until recently, 16-year-old Esraa Elsharkawy had doubts about artificial intelligence (AI). “I just thought AI was just kind of off-putting,” She says. She worried the technology would take jobs away from humans, and she didn’t understand how it worked, but she wanted to learn more. The only problem: She couldn’t get that kind of education at her high school in Katy, Texas.
For years, research has shown a digital divide in schools teaching about new technologies. For example, rich suburban schools are more likely to have computer science classes than poorer urban and rural districts.
A free summer camp AI4All at Princeton University wanted to help close the gap: it invited about 30 high schoolers from low-income families to spend three weeks living on campus, learning about the math that powers generative AI and work together with Princeton teachers to build AI solutions for real-world issues: from drone-based wildfire monitoring to medical problem-solving.
At Princeton, campers worked on AI solutions to real-life challenges in medicine, robotics and environmental science. On a mid-July afternoon, AI4All campers sat in a group inside a lecture hall and listened closely to Princeton professor Jaime Fernández Fisac as he explained how AI could help drones fly better. The concepts were very difficult, but the high schoolers were following along.
Elsharkawy attended the camp and said the experience changed her idea of AI. She said the AI4All program “definitely helps with the digital divide.” Ryan Chou, from California, called the camp a “small but impactful ” step and wanted it expanded.
Public K-12 teachers see both benefits and risks in AI, according to a survey. A majority of those surveyed believe AI will improve accessibility of learning materials for students with disabilities. Still, 40% of them say they don't use AI at all. And more than half of the 40% believe weekly use of AI by students would decrease their ability to think independently and critically.
28. What does the underlined word “off-putting” mean in paragraph 1
A. Unsettling. B. Disappointing. C. Promising. D. Relaxing.
29.What’s the goal of the camp
A. To introduce AI to young learners. B. To popularize AI education.
C. To apply AI in math learning. D. To address practical problems.
30. How did the campers react to the AI courses
A. They showed great enthusiasm. B. They showed respect for professors.
C. They enjoyed the teaching methods. D. They had trouble following the lessons.
31.What is the attitude of most teachers surveyed towards AI
A. Critical. B. Appreciative. C.Objective. D.Unclear.
D
Fishing is a way of life for people who live on the floating villages of Cambodia’s Tonle Sap Lake. These Southeast Asians depend on fish in the lake. But those fish are in trouble.
Overall, their numbers in Tonle Sap Lake have been falling sharply. Compared to the number in 2003, just 12 percent as many could be found in 2019. Chevalier was part of a team that shared those data in Science of the Total Environment. “If the tendency continues,” he says, “there will be nothing for people there to eat any more.”
Dams(大坝)are a big problem, Chevalier says. These structures break up river systems. With growing human populations, overfishing becomes more of a threat. As people keep fishing, the share of fish left there could decrease even more. Pollution threatens freshwater ecosystems, too. People have also been changing the land in ways that damages the habitat in lakes and streams. And then there’s a growing number of non-native harmful species. Lastly, global warming has been causing harm by stressing both fish and their food sources.
Still, the situation isn’t hopeless. Researchers are working to identify the most effective ways to change that. One way is to remove outdated or ill-placed dams. The largest such U.S. project took down four dams from the lower Klamath River. Soon after, thousands of salmon(鲑鱼)were swimming upstream through this newly opened stretch. Elsewhere, dam operators can reduce harm by changing river flows. Limiting flow too much can cause downstream areas to dry up. Smarter dam placement would also help.
“Restoring habitat can help if done right. But this work costs money. And it’s hard to restore entire streams,” John Gray, a fish biologist, says. In 2022, scientists tried repopulating some fish species at Tonle Sap Lake. However, nearly half the fish were caught less than three months later.
With each success or failure, scientists learn how better to deal with these big problems. Teens can get involved. Many conservation groups welcome help from people of any age.
32.Why is fishing mentioned in the first paragraph
A. To present a way of living. B. To state the best fishing place.
C. To lead to the main concern. D. To stress the value of tradition.
33.Which of the following is a way to settle the problem caused by dams
A. Increasing the use of dams. B. Turning dams into river habitats.
C. Choosing the locations for dams wisely. D. Limiting the river water flowing downstream.
34. What does Gray think of restoring habitat
A. It has limited benefits. B. It is useless.
C. It will bring worse results. D. It is money-saving.
35. What is the best title of the text
A. Remove Old Dams B. Threats to Southeast Asian Population
C. Benefits of Protecting Fish D. Help Tonle Sap Fish Survive

Life is full of regrets, like the friend you never apologized to or the risky job that you turned down. If you let them take you down, they will probably destroy you. Here are some tips on how to overcome regrets.
Remember that a new day often brings a fresh perspective. As you reflect on your regrets, you will likely be kicking yourself. 36 Sleep, rest, watch a movie, or play a game — just do something for a short season to get away from it all. You’ll look at the regret from a different angle the next morning.
37 It is possible that your regret is something that can still be fixed. That previously declined job opportunity might still be an option. Likewise, offering a sincere apology, is always timely. Do what you can to resolve the matter. Eventually, you will get this regret off of your plate.
Help someone else. 38 So why not help someone else to achieve their dreams It might be too late for you to be in the big leagues. 39 That would help you get over the pain of not taking that swing. Coach a little league team or mentor a young person. Put in the time to help someone else live without regrets.
Do an after-action review. You can do this on a daily basis: End your day by reviewing the choices and decisions of your day. Who did you talk to Why were you afraid Take time to examine all that you did. When you learn from your mistakes, you are less likely to repeat them and cause regrets. Invite others into this process from time to time. 40
A. Make things right.
B. You’ll gain even broader insights.
C. Evaluate people around frequently.
D. But what if you help someone else get there
E. We suggest you take a break from the difficulty.
F. Everything inside you is calling you every name for being so fool.
G. It is said that you’ll get what you want if you help people get what they want.

I sat on the floor, back pressed against the cold wall, as my parents’ argument sliced through the thin bedroom door. “It’s not just a math worksheet. It’s every assignment!” my dad thundered. “The teacher called — said his work is perfect, but he can’t explain a single step! He’s been cheating with that AI!” My mom’s voice was quieter but sharper: “We thought you were struggling, so we got you a tutor. But you’re lying. What’s wrong with you ”
Wrong with me. The words echoed as I buried my face in my knees, tears choking me. It had started simply — a quick way to finish a boring essay when tired. Then copying became easier than trying. Now caught, I felt only shame.
On my desk, my laptop glowed. The ChatGPT tab was still open, the copied assignment staring back. Ironically, typing felt safer than talking. My fingers trembled: “My parents found out I used you to cheat. They think I’m a liar and failure.”
The response wasn’t empty: “That sounds heavy. It takes courage to admit you’re hurting. I’m here to listen.”
I hesitated, then poured it all out—school’s overwhelm, fear of failure, copying as the only way to keep up. I slammed the laptop shut, terrified of its reply.
Minutes later, curiosity got the better of me. I opened it again. No empty reassurances, just acknowledgment: “It’s okay to feel this way. You don’t have to carry it alone.” Gentle questions made me think instead of drowning. It didn’t offer an apology, just: “What do you need to say to your parents to make this right ”
In the following 2 days, I turned to it — not to copy, but to talk. It never judged, never tired. It gave me space to heal, to find my voice. It helped me see my worth wasn’t in grades, but honesty and effort.

1.续写词数应为150个左右;
