预习案一:用括号内所给词的适当形式填空1.We learned many (amaze)facts about the plants during outdoor activities.2.The hummingbird is the (small) bird in the word.
情境创设Step 1: Lead in Greet the students.Show them some pictures of common plants and animals, such as a dog, a cat, a flower, and a tree. Ask them simple questions like “What can you see in the picture ” and “What do you think of this animal/plant ”.show some pictures of amazing plants and animals, such as a blue whale, a redwood tree, and a cheetah. Ask students, “What makes these plants and animals amazing ”. Let students express their opinions freely.二.任务驱动Step 2: Pre-listening Prediction 1. Write the new words “moss”, “redwood”, “cheetah”, “bamboo” on the blackboard. 2.Pronounce each word clearly and ask students to repeat after you several times. 3.Explain the meaning of each word with the help of pictures. 4.Teach the descriptive adjectives in the same way. Write “old”, “tall”, “fast”, “heavy”, “large”, “long”, “small”, “beautiful”, “big”, “short” on PPT. Step 3: While-listening: 1.Let students look at the pictures and the names of plants and animals in 1a to get familiar with the content.2.Play the recording for the first time. Ask students to just listen and get a general idea of the conversations.3.Play the recording again. This time, ask students to number the plants and animals in 1a in the order they hear them. Then, check the answers with the class.4.Explain the task in 1c to students. They will listen to the recording again and match the words with the plants and animals in 1a. Some may have two answers.5.Play the recording for the third time. Students listen carefully and complete the matching.6.Check the answers with the class.三.合作探究1.Let students work in pairs again. Ask them to ask and answer questions about the plants and animals in 1a using the superlative form of adjectives. 2. Invite several pairs to come to the front of the classroom and act out their conversations for the whole class.
