Booking a museum ticket this past summer was not easy. Visitors often found that tickets for the following week had been fully booked. Across China, museum halls were filled with visitors during the summer vacation. To many museums, such crowds had not often been seen before. So, what was behind this “museum craze (狂热)”
Part of the reason is a growing interest in traditional Chinese culture, according to Guo Sike, leader of the Confucius Museum in Shandong province.
“Nowadays, young Chinese love traditional Chinese culture,” said Guo. He added that modern technologies have also played a role. They allow people to experience traditional culture in more ways.
The Shaanxi History Museum in the city of Xi’an also saw an increase in visitors. The museum can only allow 12,000 people to visit each day. Its ticket booking app, however, received more than 600,000 clicks a day. To solve the problem, the museum called off its Monday rest. It was also open for more hours on Sundays.
Popular study tours also helped bring more people to museums. The Confucius Museum saw many of these tours. In Xi’an, the Qinqiang Opera was a popular subject of study tours. Local museums offered chances to learn the culture.
“Museums are bridges. They connect the past, present and future,” said Yang Chaoming, a professor at Shandong University. “More and more people wish to better learn about traditional Chinese culture through museum visits.”
5. What can we know according to Guo Sike
A. The Confucius Museum is playing an important role. B. Modern technologies can greatly help to book tickets.

①China is working on a big plan to put a wireless network (无线网) on the moon. This is part of its space exploration (探索) program. After Chang’e 6 finishes its mission (任务), two more spacecraft will be sent to get ready for the International Lunar Research Station (ILRS). Chang’e 7 is set to go in 2026, and Chang’e 8 will follow around 2029.
②A space official from China, Bian Zhigang, said that Chang’e 7 will look at the environment and resources (资源) near the moon’s South Pole. Then, Chang’e 8 will try out ways to use the moon’s resources. This will help them get ready for building the ILRS, which they hope to start using by 2035.
③Two steps will be required to build the ILRS. First, people will make a simple model at the moon’s South Pole. It will be able to do science work in an area within 100 kilometers. They will use a network that connects the Earth and the moon for different missions, like sending robots to explore the moon and astronauts landing on the moon. This will create a research platform with basic functions.
④The second step is to make the station better by 2050. They want to build a network of lunar stations that will have a main station at the South Pole and other stations at the equator and the far side of the moon. This will provide people with a large research platform for long-term robot missions and short-term human missions.
⑤Guo Feng, another space official, said that Chang’e 8 will make sure there is a way to communicate and have power on the moon. Scientists are also thinking about if they can grow plants on the moon. This might be part of the scientific research for Chang’e 8.

四、任务型阅读
As we move further into the digital age, the human attention time is decreasing rapidly. We’re struggling to focus on single tasks for long periods of time. We are easy to get distract… oh, look at that dog We need an approach that makes information easier to pick up. Enter microlearning.
Microlearning is a way of gaining knowledge that breaks information into bite-sized pieces, typically five to ten minutes long. Actually, microlearning has been around for as long as human beings have been learning. However, the use of the term “microlearning” and its rise in popularity is a relatively new thing with the increased spread of the Internet and the popularization of e-learning. Microlearning is perfect for today’s learners because they’re always on the go. This means they can learn on their commute (通勤), lunch break and more.
The neuroscience (神经科学) behind microlearning partly explains why it works so well. It uses the cognitive skills learning system in our brain, the main system for learning skills and helping with short-term memory. The use of spaced repetition also plays a part. Research suggests we learn better when we study a little at a time, not all at once. It helps to fight against the Forgetting Curve, which suggests we forget 90% of the information we learn within a week. After all, each repetition provides a new opportunity to practice active recall. Think of those flashcards you made for an exam. You created small pieces of content and looked at them over and over again until they were input in your memory
With its bite-sized knowledge, microlearning allows you to learn at your own pace, offering more flexibility (灵活). Content can be tailored (裁剪) to meet your specific needs, preferences, and learning styles, allowing for personalized learning experiences. Also, it reduces stress, and increases productivity. When you have a lot of things to do, you may feel stressed. By breaking content down into short and easy units, it makes learning feel less challenging. Nice!
Microlearning may be small but it sure is great. It’s easy to find, quick to complete and super effective. What’s not to love

42. Why is microlearning so effective according to neuroscience
