Language points
population ②人口
population 作此意讲时是集合名词，常与定冠词 the 连用，在句中作主语时，谓语动词常用单数形式。
但当 population 和分数或百分数构成的短语作主语时，谓语动词用单复数形式皆可。
The population of this town is about 60 thousand.
这个镇约有6万人口。

① 表示“某地有多少人口”时，可用“The population of＋地点＋is＋数词.”，也可用“地点＋has a population of＋数词.”。

河北省大约有 7 400 万人口。
② 表示人口“多”或“少”时，一般用 large 或 small 来修饰 population，而不用 many、much、few little.

Singapore has a small population. 新加坡人口少。
③“How large/What is the population of... ”常用来询问人口数量。注意在此句型中不能用 how many 或 how much。

lead 的过去式和过去分词均为 led。
