Copenhagen has GREAT public transport. It is reliable, safe, and easily accessible. Of course, like everything in Copenhagen, it is not cheap. The system can be a little confusing, even for the locals, but we’re here to help simplify it all for you! And today our focus is Travelling with a Bike.
BIKES ON THE TRAIN
Bicycles can be taken on s-tog lines for free but you can’t take bikes through Norreport Station during peak hours. To take your bike on a train, you need to put it on the first or last carriage, clearly marked with large signs of bicycles on the outside.
To take a bike on a regional train, which takes you to parts of Denmark outside Copenhagen, you must buy an extra ticket. The price depends on the distance and varies from 16kr to 28kr.
BIKES ON THE METRO
Bicycles can be taken on the metro for an extra 13kr. You need to pay for the bike with its own ticket. You can’t take your bike on the metro during peak hours.
BIKES ON THE BUS
You can bring a bike on a bus but each bus is limited to two bikes, even if there is much space. Generally, people do not travel with their bikes on buses in Copenhagen.
BIKES ON THE FERRY(渡船)
Charges for bicycles depend on the company and the destination. You will need to check with the ferry companies. When you book the ticket, you must state that you have a bicycle, even if it’s free of charge.

As a teacher for a decade, I find that college kids want to carve their routes and live out their journeys. But so many of them don’t know what they want to do—What major to choose? What career to pursue? What topic to write their papers on? More importantly, they wonder why any of these things really matters.
One of the best books I have read is Dr Meg Jay’s The Defining Decade. Basically, Dr Meg Jay explains one’s 20s have an enormous effect across years and even generations to come, in terms of careers, families, friends, and relationships. She states that our brain completes the second and last growth peak in our 20s as it rewires itself for true adulthood.
From the time we are in primary school, people ask us what we want to be when we grow up. I once asked my friend’s eight-year-old the question and she said, “I’m just a kid; I have no way of knowing what I want to be when I’m an adult.” Maybe the questions should be: What means something to you? What makes you happy? What do you care about regardless of any rewards? This train of thought may benefit all.
In a world of easy access, today’s students can find everything they need after a few clicks on the Internet. Sure, that’s great, quick and convenient. But there is something important missed in the hunt—persistence, patience, and concentration. So I’m grateful that when I was in college, I still had to visit the library to find the resources I needed to write a research paper. During this process, I reflected on what truly made me happy and what I genuinely cared about.
My friend Brandon recently told me that he often woke up in the early morning and realised things he cared about were not what he devoted his life to, because he took the way that others considered good when he was in his 20s, instead of the way that was right for him. What you want to be when you grow up is something that may change throughout your life, but it’s likely that your passion and motivation will always come along.
【语篇解读】本文是一篇议论文。作者就我们应该成为什么样的人阐述了自己 的观点。
4. What idea does Dr Meg Jay express in her book?
A. One’s twenties matter a great deal in one’s life.

D. The old have a long-time influence on the young.

What makes you happy? What do you care about regardless of any rewards?这样的问题,这些问题可能更会让孩子们受 益,通过这些问题孩子们能了解自己长大以后真正想做什么,也就是帮助孩子们找到 自己真正热爱的东西。故选A项。
6. What is the author’s attitude towards students’ turning to the Internet?
A. Favourable. B. Optimistic.
C. Objective. D. Uncaring.
答案:C

7. What can we learn from Brandon’s story?
A. Laziness in youth spells regret in old age.
B. Our dreams keep changing throughout our life.

The traditional Chinese Shaoxing Opera has a long history, but these days it seems that young people don’t show much interest in it.
Nowadays, as pop music and online films are popular with the public, Shaoxing Opera is struggling for its survival. The market of the opera is becoming smaller. It remains popular only with the older generation. According to Zhejiang Provincial Cultural Department, the most of fans of Shaoxing Opera, China’s second largest traditional opera, are above 40 years old. And many teenagers know nothing about Shaoxing Opera and have never been to the theatre.
Yang Jianxin, head of the department, said, “Now, young people are crazy about other art forms but not the traditional operas. The largest problem for Shaoxing Opera today is how to become acceptable to the young.”
Actually, not only Shaoxing Opera but also many other traditional Chinese operas are in danger. That’s really worrying. Luckily, people are trying to protect them. For example, Kunqu has been listed as one of the Masterpieces(杰作) of the Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO since 2001.
In 2006, Shaoxing Opera, for the first time in history, entered the pub(酒吧). It was really a good try to attract the youth. Besides, a Shaoxing Opera group opened a Shaoxing Opera blog on the Internet to invite people, especially the young, to express their opinions about this traditional art form.

Imagine obtaining traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) services with just a click on your smartphone. The tiring hospital trip—often causing long waits and many troubles, especially for the old—can now be done easily online.
The new program is transforming TCM medical services. Users can now receive a detailed health report in under 2 minutes simply after shooting a quick photo of their tongue. Developers explain this breakthrough combines traditional TCM tongue examination methods with modern AI image analysis technology. Within half a year, the program has served over 30,000 users, with 94% reporting satisfactory outcomes.
The application of AI in TCM holds significant promise for areas with limited medical resources. In distant regions where access to experienced doctors is rare, AI-assisted tools could improve healthcare quality with their medical abilities. While AI offers great potential for TCM, accurate diagnosis (诊断) still relies heavily on the doctors’ professional judgment.
Although AI has made progress in TCM, more work is needed due to the lack of standard rules. TCM’s diverse schools and approaches, developed over thousands of years, often lead to different treatment plans for the same illness, making it difficult for AI to learn effectively. Additionally, while computers have been used in TCM since the 1980s, early systems were too simple to handle complex patient conditions with unpredictable symptoms (症状). To address these issues, China is working on standardizing TCM by establishing 180 national and 30 international standards by 2026, while researchers are developing better TCM-AI tools.
In conclusion, the integration (融合) of AI into TCM will greatly improve healthcare by making TCM more accessible and efficient. However, as the journey is only beginning, much work remains. With joint efforts from researchers and practitioners, there is every reason to believe that TCM is expected to not only enhance the quality of healthcare but also extend its benefits to communities far and wide.

How to Have Open Communication
A. Wait for the appropriate time and place.
B. Discuss what you need to communicate openly.
C. Bring something positive into your communication.
D. Ask questions if you need to and even repeat what they said.
E. This could be because we don’t want to offend the other person.
F. Open communication increases trust and helps bridge differences.
G. Sometimes you need a minute to think and accurately express your thoughts.
When you can communicate openly, you can start improving your relationships, both personal and professional, in a number of ways. 16 There are a few things that you can do when talking with someone to help have an open conversation.
17 Be mindful of where and when you need to have a discussion with someone, especially if you are having an important disagreement. Someone is not likely to be open when communicating if you are surrounded by family or out in public. Therefore, have a discussion when it’s more convenient for both you and your partner.
Have patience. When emotions are high, it can be easy to be swept in those feelings and want to get all your points across. But this can make communication more difficult because you are so focused on your feelings that you aren’t able to focus on what you need to say. Be patient and allow for silences that happen. 18 .
Take the time to listen to what the other person is saying. 19 This allows you to see if there is any misunderstanding and allows you the time to understand accurately. You don’t need to agree with everything they say, but it is important to understand where they’re coming from.
Be honest with your thoughts and your feelings. Sometimes you feel the need to soften your words to lessen the blow. 20 Regardless, when you leave out certain details, you’re not able to communicate openly. You need to be honest with your partner about your needs and your experiences. By doing so, you’re hopefully closer to being able to tackle the issue.
