British people are really pancake fans. They cook it, eat it and even celebrate"Pancake Day". The date of"Pancake Day"changes every year between February 3rd and March 9th. On that day, it's traditional to eat pancakes and hold pancake races. The pancakes are mainly made from eggs, sugar and butter. They' re usually sweet with a little fresh lemon juice added over the top.
British people make pancakes to eat, and more interestingly, to exercise their arms and legs. Joining in an exciting pancake race is a must on that day. People are all very active. During a race, they run to the finishing line quickly while tossing pancakes. This game is held all over England, but the most famous race takes place in Olney.
In Olney, runners have to be housewives, and they must wear a hat or a scarf. Each of them has a pan with a hot, being cooked pancake. She must toss it three times during the race. The first woman to reach the finishing line is the winner.
Over time,“Pancake Day” has been a happy festival when people enjoy delicious pancakes and spend time together.
