During the National Day holiday, while most university(大学) students enjoyed their holiday happily,19-year-old Meng Cheng went back to his family’s cornfield(玉米地) in Shandong Province.
As a first-year student studying Computer Science at Qingdao Agricultural University(青岛农业大学), this was Meng’s first time home after he went to university. His parents were farmers in Dadianzi village. They grew corn and fruits to make money.
Heavy rain had been falling for several days. It made the fields too wet for machines to work. The family might lose all their corn if they didn’t act quickly.
