A possible version:
Dear Mr. Wang,
I’m writing to share some thoughts on improving our school’s morning exercises. Now, we do the same exercises every day. Some classmates think it’s a little boring, so they don’t do it carefully. To make it better, I have two suggestions.
First, we can add short group activities like rope-jumping relays. It’s fun and lets us work with our classmates, making the break more lively. Second, we can make two kinds of exercises: one is energetic dance to popular music, and the other is gentle stretching for students who like calm moves. Different styles can meet students’ varied interests and make the exercises more enjoyable.
I sincerely hope my suggestions can be taken into consideration. Looking forward to a more lively morning exercise time.
Yours,
Li Hua

W: Yes, of course. There is a dining car where they serve meals at all times. We do provide free water and coffee for all of our passengers.
M: Great! I’ll take it.

(Text 10)
M: Hi, everyone. I’d like to tell you what our class did to celebrate World Environment Day. First, the headmaster gave a presentation about the dangers the environment is facing nowadays and what each of us can do to protect it. Then our history teacher divided our class into three groups. Each group had a teacher as a leader. I was a member of the first group. We spent over two hours going around the neighborhood putting up posters about environmental protection. It was very cold and we got very tired, but we all felt very proud of ourselves.
The second group was responsible for cleaning the streets around the school. They picked up all the rubbish on the streets, and they also put two rubbish bins at the school gate. The third group was asked to plant flowers in the schoolyard. When they grow, I’m sure our schoolyard will look very beautiful. When we all finished what we had to do, we gathered in the schoolyard again. The headmaster and our teachers thanked us and gave each of us a bag made of waste paper.

Sustainable(可持续的)travel is an idea that many experts within the travel industry agree on. To continue enjoying this amazing world, both travelers and the travel industry must change their actions to be more environmentally friendly. A report reads: “At this important moment in climate history, if there is a lack of actions, by 2040 many of the world’s favorite destinations will be forced to go virtual(虚拟的).”
What is sustainable travel It is about traveling in a way that reduces negative impact(影响)on the climate and environment, as well as the communities and people we visit. For many years, the attention around sustainable travel was in need of reducing environmental pollution. While it is still important, there is now an even more pressing issue. With the growth of a private market that means local communities aren’t getting as many benefits from tourism as they should, change is needed more than ever.
To solve this problem, we need to rethink how we see travel. Instead of just focusing on our own experiences, we should consider the needs of our hosts while our hopes for a fun-filled holiday. All it takes is a little thoughtful planning.
One of the most useful ways you can make a difference when traveling is to reduce your carbon footprint. Wherever you choose to go, your transport will likely cause most of your CO2 emissions(排放物). It’s simple: traveling shorter distances and using less fuel (燃料) will make a big difference. And by doing so, you can visit more places and benefit more communities and people.
And traveling out of peak season can be a more meaningful experience. You’ll avoid the crowds at popular sites and find lower prices for hotels, restaurants and activities. For local people who work in tourism and are seasonal workers, the money they make outside of busy periods is much valued and needed.
Another impactful way to be more sustainable is to stay in places owned by the local community rather than chain hotels. It means the money you spend goes directly to local people who are serving you and need it most.
26.Why does the author mention the report in paragraph 1
A. To try to explain what sustainable travel is.
B. To point out the main idea of the text.
C. To show why sustainable travel is necessary.
D. To present climate change's effect on travel.
27. What does “an even more pressing issue” in paragraph 2 refer to
A. Climate change.
B. Environmental pollution.
C. Fast growth of tourism.
D. Little attention on locals.
28. What does the author suggest a sustainable traveler do
A. Travel less.
B. Choose long trips.
C. Make a package tour.
D. Try off-season travel.
29. Why are community-owned hotels recommended
A. They provide better service for guests.
B. They are friendlier to the environment.
C. They help local people make more money.
D. They are the main part of the local economy.
30. Which is the author’s main purpose in writing the text
A. To prove sustainable travel is the only way to protect tourism places.
B. To say sustainable travel should balance travelers, locals and the environment.
C. To tell readers community-owned places are key to sustainable travel.
D. To show solving pollution is more important than helping locals.

As a well-known Chinese saying goes, “A journey of one thousand miles begins with a single step.” 31 They turned off all lights and electronics from 8:30 to 9:30 p.m. local time.
Earth Hour is suggested by the World Wildlife Fund (WWF). On March 31, 2007, the organization encouraged the people in Sydney to turn off all lights and all unnecessary devices for one hour. Over 2 million households and 2,100 companies answered the call. This small action helped save 10% of the electricity in a regular evening hour. 32
Besides making an immediate(立刻的)difference, the WWF says the worldwide participation shows people’s desire to try their best to reverse (逆转) climate change. 33 According to the WWF, simple actions such as turning off unnecessary lights and choosing wood pencils over plastic ones can also help reverse climate change.
34 In 2008, over 50 million people in over 5,000 cities worldwide took part in the event, and the numbers have only grown since. Today, Earth Hour is celebrated in over 180 countries.
Are you not sure what to do without your phone or television for a whole hour WWF suggests organizing a candlelight dinner for your family or, even better, a picnic under the stars. 35 Remember that climate change can be reversed if we all help, so be sure to do your part!
A. Your participation is never important.
B. Or how about a late-night hike or a bike ride
C. Therefore, more people joined the Earth Hour movement.
D. There is no doubt that their efforts(努力)have paid off.
E. It’s the biggest voluntary environmental movement globally.

My Journey of Adapting to (适应) the New School
After a one-day drive, we arrived at our new town. My dad got a new job here, so we had to move. Unlike our usual happy family trips, this time is challenging for me—starting a new school really scared me. My mom chatted excitedly with Dad in the front seat, but I sat quietly, thinking about the strange environment and new classmates I’d face.
On my first school day, I felt totally lost. Everyone else talked and laughed happily during breaks, while I just stood alone. I missed my old friends so much. To avoid feeling lonely, I spent most of my free time in the library reading or in the art room drawing. I really wanted to fit in, but I didn’t know how.
Weeks passed, and I still struggled. I’m shy, so starting conversations was hard. A few classmates tried to be kind, but I still felt like an outsider. I only spoke to my deskmate Alex when necessary—and things got worse when I accidentally knocked over his water bottle. Even though I apologized right away, he got annoyed, and we started avoiding each other.
Then our teacher paired us up to design a poster. My mouth opened and closed several times, but the words “I don’t want to” stuck in my throat (喉咙). However, as we designed it, we found we shared many hobbies. We worked hard and made a great poster. Alex told everyone I drew pictures of the poster. Our teacher and classmates thought highly of my drawings. At that moment, I blushed (脸红) and looked down, secretly excited. Slowly, I made more friends and joined in school activities. By the end of the year, I’d fully adapted. It was at this moment that I realized what seemed challenging is not that scary. Instead, it’s the secret to my growth.
