About once a year, someone in my family gets the flu (流感), and soon, everyone catches it. It’s something many families go through.
But there’s another thing that can spread (传播) in a family even more often, moods (情绪). Studies show it’s as easy to catch a bad mood from someone as it is to get the flu from him. So it’s important to know how our moods affect (影响) others.
I always find it hard to control (控制) my mood. Small things like my favourite sports team losing would make me sad. And my bad mood would spread to everyone around me. Here’s how it works. Our bad moods can make others talk about their own bad experiences, making things even worse.
Life can be difficult. We all have bad days at school or find out bad news. It’s natural to be unhappy sometimes. But the worst thing we do is bring our bad moods home to our loved ones. Bad moods, even small ones, can make a big difference. They can bring everyone down.
Positivity (积极乐观), on the other hand, can create positivity. When someone is positive, he can make everyone’s heart lift. So control what you can and try to spread positivity. It feels great to be a little sun around your friends and family.
51. Why does the writer write about the flu
A. To ask us to be careful with it.
B. To show that bad moods can spread like it.
C. To ask us to stay away from people with it.
D. To show that bad moods can make people tired like it.
52. How do our bad moods spread to others according to the passage
A They make others share their own bad experiences. B. They get others to feel afraid to talk to us.
C. They get others to be bored with us. D. They make others feel bad about us.
53. What’s the main idea of Paragraph 4
A. Family is important. B. It’s natural to have bad moods.
C. Life can be relaxing sometimes. D. Bad moods can bring everyone down.
54. The words “make everyone’s heart lift” in the last paragraph probably mean “________”.
A. make everyone happy B. keep everyone busy C. surprise everyone D. get everyone out
55. What is the writer trying to tell us
A. Even small things can bring us bad moods. B. Positive people can make everyone feel better.
C. We should stop our bad moods from spreading. D. It’s OK to talk about our bad feelings with others.
