Though Beijing is a modern city, many Beijing families still live in the quiet and peaceful quadrangle courtyards(四合院) called siheyuan.
Walls are built around the houses and form the courtyard. Sitting north and facing south, the courtyard is shaped like the Chinese character“口”. 作文范文
A True Friend of Mine
One of the greatest gifts of life is friendship, and my best friend Emma is the most precious one to me.
We look and act quite differently. Emma has big eyes and short hair, and she’s always energetic. I have small eyes and long hair, and I’m a bit shy. She likes dancing and often joins school shows, while I enjoy painting and spend weekends drawing.
We became close last year. I fell ill and missed a week of school. Emma came to my home every day after class. She shared her notes with me and explained difficult lessons patiently. When I returned to school, she even helped me catch up with group projects. From then on, we knew we were true friends. Differences don’t keep us apart—they make our friendship more special.
