Good morning! It’s my honor to share ideas on smooth cross-cultural communication,
with body language being a key part that often influences our interactions.
Body language, which conveys emotions without words, carries totally different
meanings in various cultures. For instance, nodding, regarded as a sign of agreement in
most Asian countries, actually means "disagreement" in Bulgaria. Another example is
the smile: while it shows friendliness in Western cultures, it might be seen as a
way to hide embarrassment in Japan.
To use body language appropriately, we should first learn about cultural differences
by reading related materials. Second, observe locals’ gestures carefully before taking
action, as following their habits helps avoid misunderstandings. Last, keep gestures
simple when unsure, which can reduce the risk of offending others.

I haven’t mentioned breaks, lunch, etc. Unfortunately, our cafe’s closed at the moment, so your best bet is to bring a packed lunch. We tend to have our sandwiches in the kitchen area. Go round the reception desk and you’ll see the door to the kitchen area is just behind that.
