They will eat the fresh food, take some home and give some food to the food bank.
If your class plants a garden, you will need some useful tools (工具). And your teacher may need to help you with the work, take care of your garden and wait for the produce to grow, you will get more than you think.

Golden and red leaves are always the things in autumn. But because of warming weather, a warmer autumn makes the leaves change the color later. Today, red leaves in some countries have arrived one month later than they did over 100 years ago. Some leaves even fall before turning red. We might lose this beautiful color someday in the future.
How do trees turn red
In spring and summer, trees make chlorophyll (叶绿素) to grow. When it gets cold, they stop making chlorophyll. The yellow and red pigments (色素) are under chlorophyll. They show up in autumn.
The red color helps the trees beat the cold by...
·making the leaves warm
·helping trees take in the last nutrients (营养物) from the leaves before they fall
Late red leaves can be bad for trees.
·Trees may have a shorter life.
·Trees may not grow well next spring.
·Some weak trees may die.

⑥Water the newly planted tree. Provide 4 liters of water for every six inches (英寸) of the tree.
⑦Mulch (用腐叶覆盖). Fill the planting hole with 1-3 inches of leaf mulch.

There were once lots of sunflower sea stars along the Pacific Coast of North America. But it is said that about 90 percent of them have died in the last 10 years.
Scientists at the University of Washington are researching to understand why the sea stars died. To do so, they are growing them in a lab. They have nearly 150 sea stars between the ages of one and three, and around 5,000 baby sea stars. They also have 16 adult sea stars from ocean waters.
The result shows the illness that killed them is known as sea star wasting syndrome (消耗综合征). Jason Hodin, the top researcher at the lab, said that the illness might have happened because of warmer water caused by climate (气候) change.
Another group from the university is also working on the study. They are trying to find out if warmer water changes the way the sea stars move. The group is using special cameras to see how the sea stars move and to create 3D pictures. The pictures would show differences even with small changes to their environment—such as a small water temperature change.
So far, the researchers think the sea stars are able to live in warmer water. Hodin said, “If sunflower sea stars are going to recover (恢复) in the ocean with or without the help of humans, they’re going to be doing so when climate changes.”
49.Why are the scientists doing the research

Pandas are one of the cutest animals in the world. Many visitors come to see them every year. Most pandas live in the mountains of Sichuan, Shaanxi, and Gansu in China. People call them “national treasures” (国宝) because they are so special.
Pandas have a very special look. Their white faces and black eyes make them look like they are wearing sunglasses. They are heavy, but they can climb trees well. They mainly eat bamboo (竹子). A panda usually spends 10~16 hours a day eating bamboo to get enough food.
