Unit 1
Needless to say, John was not content with the result. Surprisingly, he should have made so many silly mistakes, which made him extremely ashamed and guilty. Thinking of the disappointed expression of his parents, a deep sense of shame spread into his mind. So ashamed was he that he was on the point of crying. Meanwhile, when John looked back at what he had done this term, he knew this result was expected.
He blamed himself a lot. Although he was deeply discouraged, he didn't lose heart. He made up his mind to quit playing computer games and focus on his study from then on. Fortunately, his teacher also came to his assistance, encouraging him to be responsible for himself and his future. Now he is busy with his new learning journey with full confidence.

At the beginning of the competition, he was at ease and relaxed, rushing in front of the crowd as an arrow. However, the following parts began harder and harder for him. When it comes to the last five hundred metres, his legs were as heavy as ice-blocks, so he had to drag his legs, stumbling forward as if drunk. He almost fell apart and completely lost heart. He was about to give up when he heard some voice shouting his name and excitedly cheering up for him. He determined that he wouldn't fail them.
