be good at =do well in 擅长于…… Jim is good at swimming.
be good for 对……有益处 Drinking milk is good for our body.
be good to =be kind/friendly to …对……友好 Miss Lin is good to her neighbors.
be good with 与……相处得好；擅于……打交道 She is good with children.

conjunctions（连词）
连词是一种虚词，它不能独立充当句子成分，只能起连接词与词、短语与短语或句子与句子的作用。连词主要分为并列连词和从属连词。
本单元学了三个连词and、but和because。其中and、but属于并列连词，because属于从属连词。
(一)and
作并列连词，可以连接并列的单词、短语或句子；意为“那么，于是”时，可根据具体语境进行翻译，也可不译，起承上启下的作用。例如：
- Drive slowly and carefully. 小心，慢点开车。
- Come here and you can have a good time. 来这里吧，你会玩得开心。
- This is an apple. And what's that 这是一个苹果。那是什么？
【提醒】
在否定句中要把and变为or。例如：
- I like apples and oranges.（改为否定句）
- I don't like apples or oranges. 我不喜欢苹果和橙子。
【拓展】or的用法
or的几种用法：
表示“或者”，用于连接两个或多个选择项。
Do you want tea or coffee （你想要茶还是咖啡？）
表示“否则”“要不然”。
Hurry up or you'll be late.（快点，否则你会迟到的。）
在否定句中，表示“也不”。
He can't read or write.（他不会读也不会写。）
(二) but
用来引出相反意见或不同情况。连接两个并列的成分或句子时，语气较强，在意义上构成明显的对比。与前半句可用（可不用）逗号分开，与后半句不用逗号分开。例句：
- The woman is old，but she looks very young.（与前半句可用逗号分开）
这位女士老了，但是她看起来很年轻。
- Mike has a basketball but he doesn't have a baseball. 迈克有一个篮球，但他没有棒球。
【辨析】but 与 and
but 转折连词，意为“但是”，连接两个并列的成分，表示前后意义的转折或两种情况的对比
and 并列连词，意为“和；又；而”，连接并列的单词、短语或句子，表示顺承或并列关系。连接两个名词或代词作主语时，若指两人或两物，谓语动词用复数形式。例句：
- Our room is small, but it's very tidy. 我们的房间小，但是很整洁。
- He can play the guitar and he can sing, too. 他会弹吉他，并且也会唱歌。

(三) because
① 回答why引导的特殊疑问句，后跟句子，申述原因或理由。
② 引导原因状语从句，表示直接原因，原因构成句子的最主要部分。例句：
- Why are you late？你为什么迟到了？ -Because I got up late. 因为我起晚了。
- Because I am very busy, I can't go out with you.
=I am very busy, so I can't go out with you.
因为我太忙了，所以我不能和你一起出去。
【提醒】
在汉语中，表示因果关系一般用“因为……所以……”，但在英语中，because（因为）与so（所以）不能同时出现在一个句子中。
