Unit 9
Sad but Beautiful
Section B(2a-2e)
Paragraph 1
Last night one of my Chinese friends took me to a concert of Chinese folk music. The piece which was played on the erhu especially moved me. The music was strangely beautiful, but under the beauty I sensed a strong sadness and pain. The piece had a simple name, Erquan Yingyue (Moon Reflected on Second Spring), but it was one of the most moving pieces of music that I've ever heard. The erhu sounded so sad that I almost cried along with it as I listened. Later I looked up the history of Erquan Yingyue, and I began to understand the sadness in the music.

modern Abing
What can we learn from him
Focus on our dreams
Love for life and music
Have strong spirit
Try our best
Never give up
In the early morning, we keep reading English words;
All day long, we study actively and hard;
Late in the evening, we don’t go to bed until we work out the last math problem.
Although we are tired, we still don’t want to stop.
We are all like Abing, do you agree
所以我们要致敬现在拼尽全力的自己,我们身上藏着和Abing一样的“不服输”,我们一定会用坚持为青春写下最耀眼的注脚。
Dear me,
It’s hard now----early mornings, endless papers, tired nights.
But every step you take, every time you keep going, builds something strong.
Doubt will come, but don’t let it win. Be kind, stay focused, and run after that spark.
Is this hard It’ll all be worth it.
Keep going—I’m proud of you.
Poem: To Myself
The world has kissed my soul with its pain,asking for its return in songs.
生活吻我以痛,我要报之以歌。
