Conjunction: A word or group of words that joins together
words,groups or clauses.

and的用法
（1）“和；又”，表示并列关系。
（2）“而且；并且”，表示递进关系。
（3） “（一般情况下不用翻译出来）”，表示顺承关系。
e.g. My sister and I study in the same school. （表示______ 关系）
我和我妹妹在同一所学校上学。
He did the work and did it well. （表示______ 关系）
他做了那项工作，而且做得很好。
She knocked on the door and went it. （表示______ 关系）
她敲敲门走了进去。
若and连接三个或三个以上的单词、短语或句子时，and一般置于最后的单词、短语或句子之前。e.g. I like Chinese, maths, English and art.

“但是；而是”，表示转折关系。所连接的内容意思相反或相对。
重点提示：不与although/though “尽管；虽然”连用。
拓展：作介词，意为“除.....之外”（不包括在内）。
e.g. They are all wrong but Tom. 除了汤姆外，他们全错了。
e.g. The garden is small but beautiful. 这个花园很小但很漂亮。
She is not my cousin but my sister. 她不是我的表妹，而是我的妹妹。
He went to bed, but he could not fall asleep. 他去睡觉了，但睡不着。

because的用法
“因为；由于”，说明原因或作出解释，语气较强。
（1）用来回答由why引导的疑问句，
（2）引导原因状语从句，多置于主句之后，有时也可放在主句之前。
拓展：so意为“所以”，用于连接两个具有因果关系的并列分句。
重要提示：because和so不能连用！！！
e.g. —Why do you like art 你为什么喜欢美术？
—Because it’s fun. 因为它很有趣。
We stay at home because it rains. 因为下雨了，所以我们待在家里。
Because I want to be a scientist, I study very hard.
因为我想成为科学家，所以我学习很努力。
