There are many respectable people around us.However, I admired Yuan Longping most. Yuan Longping, who is one of the greatest scientists in China, is acknowledged as the “father of hybrid rice”．
Yuan Longping was born in Beijing and graduated from Southwest Agricultural College in 1953, after which he was committed to increasing the rice output. Although he encountered many extraordinary difficulties, he never acknowledged defeat, and his passion for his career never died down. Eventually, his efforts paid off, and he cultivated hybrid rice successfully in 1973. Incredibly, it was the person who was more like a farmer than a scientist that made such remarkable contributions to ridding the world of hunger.
In 2021, it was reported that Yuan Longping had passed away in Changsha, Hunan Province, and the whole world mourned the great loss of the brilliant scientist.
