One day after school, Jenny, Danny, and Bill are chatting online.
Bill: I have to leave now. My mum and I are going to sweep the floor.
Jenny: Same here. I’m going to help my parents prepare dinner. Talk to you later!
Danny: Really I’m going to watch cartoons. Bye!
After watching one of his favourite cartoons for a few minutes, Danny goes to the kitchen.
Mrs Dino: Hi, Danny. What brings you here
Danny: Well... Can I help you with dinner
Mrs Dino: Wow, sure! I’d love some help. You can wash the corn, green beans, cucumbers and onions. Then chop them.
Danny: Okay! That sounds easy!
Mrs Dino: Just be careful with the knife.
Danny: Of course, I will.
Mrs Dino: What makes you want to cook with me today
Danny: Bill and Jenny help their parents with cleaning and cooking. I want to help you too.
Mrs Dino: Cooking and cleaning are important life skills. The sooner you start learning, the better! Would you like to come with me to the store tomorrow
Danny: Yes! Maybe we can make some porridge tomorrow morning, and you can teach me how to cook it.
Mrs Dino: That sounds good, Danny.

prepare v. 准备；使做好准备，后可接名词和动词不定式。
prepare to do sth 准备做某事
e.g. She prepared to give a speech at the meeting.

拓展短语：“prepare for” 为…… 做准备
e.g.Students are preparing for the coming exam.
学生们在为即将到来的考试做准备。

be careful with表示 “小心对待 / 使用某物”，强调对物品或事物的谨慎态度，避免损坏、误用或发生危险。

The + 比较级，the + 比较级 “越…… ，就越……”
结构解析：“the + 形容词 / 副词比较级” 引导条件状语从句，主句用 “the + 形容词 / 副词比较级” 表结果 。
e.g.The harder you work, the better grades you will get.
你学习越努力，成绩就会越好 。
The more you practice speaking English, the more fluent you will be.
你越多练习说英语，就会越流利。

set an example 树立榜样 ；example 是可数名词，常用 “set a good/bad example”树立好 / 坏榜样
