at work 在工作

work for 效劳；为……工作
His uncle works for a big hospital in the city. 他的叔叔在城里一家大医院工作。
out of work 失业
That old man is out of work and needs help. 那位老人失业了，需要帮助。
work out 计算出
I can work out this simple math problem quickly. 我能很快算出这道简单的数学题。

be good at意为“擅长……；精通……”，后可接名词、代词或动词的-ing 形式。相当于do well in。
My brother is good at/does well in playing basketball. 我哥哥擅长打篮球。
be good for意为“对……有帮助，对……有好处”，其反义短语是 be bad for（对……有害）。
Getting up early is good for you to keep energetic. 早起对你保持精力充沛有帮助。
be good to意为“对……友好”，相当于be friendly/kind to。
Our new teacher is always good to every student. 我们的新老师对每个学生都很友好。
be good with意为“善于应付……的”。
My mom is good with kids, so they all like her. 我妈妈善于应付孩子，所以他们都喜欢她。
3. Why not join the football club 为什么不加入足球俱乐部呢？
“Why not do sth. ”意为“为什么不做某事呢？”，是句型“Why don't you do sth. ”的省略形式，常用来表示提出建议、征求意见、发出邀请等。肯定回答通常为“All right/Good idea./OK!/Sound good/great.”等。否定回答通常用“I’m afraid not/Sorry, I ...”等。
—Why not go for a walk 为什么不去散步呢？
— Good idea! 好主意！
— Why not play basketball 为什么不打篮球呢？
—I'm afraid not. I must do my homework first. 我恐怕不行。我必须先完成我的作业。
4. I hope I can play football well like you. 我希望我能像你一样踢得那么好。
hope作实义动词，意为“希望”。
hope to do sth. 希望做某事
They hope to see the new movie together. 他们希望一起去看这部新电影。
hope +(that)从句 希望……
My dad hopes that his team will win the game. 我爸爸希望他的球队能赢得比赛。
I hope so./I hope not. 我希望如此。/我希望不要。

hope for sth. 祈祷……；盼望……
The farmers hope for a good harvest this year. 农民们祈祷今年能有好收成。
