e.g. Nobody knew the answer to the question.
e.g. Everything happens for a reason.

不定代词用法
不定代词大都可以代替名词和形容词,在句子中用作主语、宾语、定语等。
(1) 作主语:不定代词作主语时,谓语动词的单复数形式要根据具体情况而定。
当不定代词表示单数概念时,谓语动词用单数形式。
例如:Everyone is here. 每个人都在这儿。
Nobody knows the answer to this question. 没有人知道这个问题的答案。
当不定代词表示复数概念时,谓语动词用复数形式。
例如:Both of them are good at math. 他们两个都擅长数学。
All of the flowers are beautiful. 所有的花都是美丽的。
All is well that ends well. 结果好一切都好。
(2) 作宾语:可作及物动词或介词的宾语。
例如:I don't like anything in this shop. 我不喜欢这家商店里的任何东西。
He is looking for someone to help him. 他在找某个人来帮助他。
(3) 作表语:说明主语的性质、特征或身份等。
例如:My job is something interesting. 我的工作是有趣的事。
The problem is nothing difficult. 这个问题并不难。
(4) 作定语:修饰名词,一般放在名词前面。
