Think about the following questions and then share answers in groups.
If we change “it” to “their hobby”, the sentence sounds repetitive (重复).
We use pronouns when we want to avoid repeating a noun that’s already mentioned (or clear in context) to make language short and natural.
Pronouns avoid repetition, making speech or writing short and smooth. They also keep the text connected, clearly referring to what’s mentioned before, so the meaning is clear and expression is efficient.
