Enjoy a video about our school and move on to today’s topic.2. Listen and Guess:(1) Ask students to guess the name of each place in English. After students guess correctly, teachthe pronunciation and spelling of the words (dining hall, classroom, library, sports field) and writethem on the whiteboard.(2) Pair work : Let students talk about their favourite places in the school.Step 2. Pre-reading (4 minutes)1. Introduce the Background: Enjoy a video about Peter and tell students: “Our friend Peter willintroduce his new school to us. He wrote an email to his friend Flora. Skimming Task:(1) Show Peter’s email on the PPT and ask students to skim the email quickly to answer thefollowing questions:① What kind of text is it (It’s an email.)② Who writes it (Peter writes to Flora.)③ What is the text about (It’s about Peter’s new school.)Invite students to share their answers, check their understanding of the basic background of theemail, and guide them to pay attention to the format of the email (sender, receiver, greeting,closing).(2) What’s the structure of the email Step 3.
