1 During the 2021 Shanghai Fashion Week, a young, slim and confident woman with an iron leg drew everyone's attention. Her name was Niu Yu. She lost her right leg in the 2008 Wenchuan earthquake. She was only 11 years old then.

2008 Wenchuan Earthquake.
On May 12, 2008, in Wenchuan, Sichuan.
Lin Hao, a 9-year-old student. His school broke down in the earthquake.

After being saved, Lin Hao felt sad but saw rescuers’ bravery. With family’s love, he became strong. He started to help other kids and share his story to give them hope.
When Lin Hao, though scared, went back to save two classmates in the ruins. And he walked in the 2008 Olympics opening ceremony, showing courage.

Lin Hao grows up. He studies hard and often does volunteer work, helping people in need.
Step 2：Write the story.
On May 12, 2008, a big earthquake hit Wenchuan. Lin Hao, a 9-year-old boy, was having class. The school building started to shake and broke down. Lin Hao was trapped in the ruins.
Luckily, Lin Hao got out safely. But he didn’t run away. He thought of his classmates and went back into the dangerous ruins. He tried hard and saved two classmates!
After the quake, Lin Hao was sad sometimes. But his family and rescuers’ stories made him strong. He began to tell his story to other kids, letting them know “Be brave!”. He even walked in the 2008 Olympics opening ceremony.
Now, Lin Hao is a young man. He studies well and often volunteers. From Lin Hao, we learn: Disasters are scary, but courage and helping others can bring hope. Let’s be brave and kind, to make our life better!
