The person I respect most is Yuan Longping, a great scientist . Born in a poor family in 1930, Yuan graduated from Southwest Agricultural College. He was fond of playing the violin and he cared little about money
or being famous.
The reason why I respect him is that Yuan Longping devoted himself to agriculture and spent his life researching the increase in the rice output after graduation. Through great effort, Yuan overcame enormous technical difficulties to develop the first hybrid rice for which he got the title of the “father of hybrid rice”. Yuan Longping has made such great contributions to the whole world that he has received numerous awards both at home and abroad.
All in all, having set a good example to us teenagers, Yuan Longping , who is spoken highly of by many people , deserves my admiration and respect.

The Most Influential Man to Me
There are many influential men around me. Among them, the person who influences me most is Tu Youyou, a famous female chemist and scientist. Born in Zhejiang Province in1930, she graduated from Peking University Medical School.
The reason why I think she is the most influential person to me is that she has been devoted to studying traditional Chinese medicine and modern western medicine. In 1972, she succeeded in discovering and developing artemisinin out of a Chinese herb to cure those patients of malaria in different places of the world. She has made such great contributions to the world that she was awarded the Nobel Prize in Medicine, becoming the first Chinese woman scientist to win the Nobel Prize.
All in all, Tu Youyou, who has indeed set an excellent example to us students, inspires me to become a person like her in the future.
