Language Points
1. Most bats are active at night and most birds are active in the day.
大多数蝙蝠在夜间活动，而大多数鸟类在白天活动。
night, 名词，意为“晚上”。at night 意为“在晚上”。
辨析 night 和 evening 都可以表示晚上，但在以下几方面不同：
①含义不同：evening 常指从日落到睡觉前的时段；night 常指从傍晚 6 点到次日凌晨的整个夜晚时段。
②用法不同：交际用语 “Good evening!” 是傍晚熟人见面的问候语，意为 “晚上好！”；“Good night!” 用于夜间道别（尤其睡前），意为 “晚安！”“再见！”。
③搭配不同：in the evening（泛指 “在晚上”，evening 与 in 搭配且前加 the）和 at night（常指 “在深夜”，night 与 at 搭配且前无冠词）都可译为 “在晚上”。
2. Do you think these trees have flowers 你认为这些树有花吗？
1) think，动词，意为 “认为，以为”，后常接句子作宾语。
I think he can finish the task on time. 我认为他能按时完成任务。
注意 think 的否定形式是对 think 直接否定（“助动词 + think”），但翻译时要对 think 后的句子进行语义否定。
I don’t think it will rain tomorrow. 我认为明天不会下雨。
They don’t think this plan is practical. 他们认为这个计划不切实际。
拓展 think 也可单独使用，意为 “思考，想”。

2) these，指示代词，意为 “这些”，可单独使用，也可修饰可数名词复数。
this、these、that 和 those 均为指示代词，词义和用法不同：
类别 代词 含义与用法
近指 this “这（个）”，指距离较近的单个事物或人，可修饰可数名词单数或不可数名词。
these “这些”，指距离较近的多个事物或人，可单独使用，也可修饰可数名词复数。
远指 that “那（个）”，指距离较远的单个事物或人，可修饰可数名词单数或不可数名词。
those “那些”，指距离较远的多个事物或人，可单独使用，也可修饰可数名词复数。
3. The sea is home to different kinds of fish. 海洋是各种鱼类的家园。
fish，名词，意为 “鱼；鱼肉”，用法如下：
作可数名词（表 “鱼的条数”）：单复数同形
There are three fish in the bowl. 碗里有三条鱼。
作可数名词（表 “鱼的种类”）：复数形式为 fishes
There are many kinds of fishes in the river. 河里有很多种鱼。
作不可数名词（表 “鱼肉”）：
I like eating fish. 我喜欢吃鱼肉。
We often go fishing on weekends. 我们经常周末去钓鱼。
