The Interesting Dragon Boat Festival
Today I want to talk about the Dragon Boat Festival. It has another name: the Double Fifth Festival. It takes place on the fifth day of the fifth lunar month.
What do people do on this day The most exciting activity is the dragon boat races. On that day, the riversides are full of people watching the races — the boats look like dragons, and the players row quickly. It’s so interesting!
Eating zongzi is a must for this festival. Zongzi is a kind of rice food with fillings. In northern China, zongzi are usually sweet. But in southern China, they are salty. I tried a salty zongzi before, and it tasted good. This year I want to try the sweet one too!
The Dragon Boat Festival is not just fun — it’s a way to remember a great poet. I like this festival because it has interesting activities and tasty food!

My Favorite Festival — The Spring Festival
The Spring Festival is the most important festival in China. It falls on the first day of lunar January.
Before the festival, people are busy preparing. We paste Spring Festival couplets on doors to wish for a good new year. On New Year’s Eve, all family members get together and have a sumptuous reunion dinner. We also watch the Spring Festival Gala and chat happily.
Children love this festival most, because we can get lucky money in red envelopes! Some people set off firecrackers to welcome the new year (but now we often use safe ways to celebrate). We eat dumplings too — they’re delicious!
The Spring Festival is great because it makes us feel warm love and happiness with our family. I look forward to it every year!
