1. Be able to understand the content of the text and grasp the key information describing bees.
2. Be able to learn about the importance of bees and their role in the ecosystem.
3. Be able to cultivate Ss' awareness of biological conservation and spark their interest in protecting bees.

Ⅲ. Teaching Procedure
Learning Activity
Step 1 Lead-in
T: We've learned some amazing plants animals, such as bamboo, ginkgo trees, blue whales, elephants. They all play important roles in our world. What other plants and animals do you know
Step 2 Pre-listening
1. Play a short video of bee collecting nectar and pollinating flowers.
2. Bee knowledge Quick Quiz:
(1) How do bees help plants
(2) What does a bee's home look like
(3) How do bees communicate
After answering the questions, the teacher summarizes their responses, and guides them to think about the importance of bees in nature,leading into the text in 1b.
Step 3 While-reading
Work on 1b
1. Fast-reading
Ask Ss to quickly read the text and find the main idea of each paragraph.
(1) The connection between people, plants and animals, and the importance of bees.
(2) Bees are hard-working and play a role in pollination.
(3) Bees are interesting and how they communicate.
(4) The importance of bees in the ecosystem and how we need to protect them.
2. Careful-reading
Ask Ss to read the text again and find the answers to some specific questions.
(1) How many flowers do bees often visit on one trip
(2) How do bees communicate with each other when they find new food
(3) What's the problem with bees
Step 4 Post-reading
Work on 1C
Read again and complete the mind map with the information from the text. Then try to retell the passage with the mind map.
Step 5 Language points and discussion
Work on 1d, 1e and 1f
1. Explain the key words, phrases and sentences in the article.
2. Divide Ss into groups of 4. Discuss the questions in 1d and each group selects a representative to present their answers.
3. Ask them to discuss the following questions:
What will happen if the number of bees continues to drop What can we do to protect bees
4. According to your discussion, write one more paragraph about bees and add it to the text.
5. Ask them to discuss the question:
How do you understand the connection between people, plants and animals
Think of some examples and then share them with a partner.
Assessment of Teaching Effectiveness
1. Help Ss learn about amazing species in the natural world.
2. Observe whether Ss can accurately answer questions about bees to assess their initial under-standing of the importance of bees in nature.
3. Check if Ss can find all the relevant adjectives and provide reasonable explanations.
4. Observe whether Ss can accurately extract information from the text and complete the mind map, and whether they can answer questions based on the text. This assess their comprehension of the article's content and their teamwork skills.
5. Observe whether Ss actively participate in group discussions and the follow-up writing activity.
Design Purpose
1. To evoke Ss' curiosity and desire to explore nature, fostering their love for it.
2. Cultivate Ss' teamwork skills, creativity and language application ability through group discussions and writing activities.
3. Help Ss establish the connection between bees and their importance in nature, paving the way for an in-depth study of the text.
4. Train Ss' skimming skills to gain an overall understanding of the text.
5. Help Ss understand the text in detail and grasp the use of adjectives.
Ⅳ. Homework
Required:
1. Summarize the differences between the comparative
forms of and superlative forms of adjectives and
adverbs.
2. Construct a sentence using a superlative or adverb.
This sentence should describe the "most" thing in a
certain field that you think, such as the biggest, the
fastest, the tallest, etc.
Optional:
Create a "World Greatest" poster and describe
it using superlatives or adverbs.

Ⅵ. Teaching Reflection
In this lesson, the concept of the superlative degree was introduced by guiding Ss to discuss the world's "mosts", which successfully activated
their prior knowledge and laid the foundation for deeper learning. Based on observing Ss' autonomous summarization of the superlative form rules and their participation in exercises, most Ss were able to grasp the regular form quite well. However, some difficulties remain in memorizing the irregular forms and applying them in practical use.
