Waiting for Another Hare is a fable about a farmer in ancient times who
accidentally got a hare killed on a tree stump. From then on, he dropped his hoe and waited beside the stump all day long.
The purpose of the author is to tell us: Only through their own labour can
people gain something. Or they will eventually get nothing, leaving a lifetime of regret. The fable is short, but the thread is clear, and it fully serves the author’s purpose of warning the world. What I have learnt from this fable is that relying
solely on chance or luck is not a reliable way to achieve success. What’s more, it dawns on me that only if we work hard can we achieve our dreams.
This is such an educational story and I would like to recommend it to you. Hope you can gain something useful for your life from this fable.
