extension
Burns Night is an annual celebration held on January 25th in honor of the Scottish poet Robert Burns.
Born in 1759, he is considered the national poet of Scotland. His works, including a wide range of poems and songs, have had a significant impact on Scottish literature and culture.
The main event of Burns Night is the Burns Supper.
During the celebration, toasts are made to the “Immortal Memory of Robert Burns.” People also recite Burns’ poems such as “Auld Lang Syne,” “To a Mouse,” and “Tam o’ Shanter.” Traditional Scottish music and dancing, like the sound of bagpipes and country dances, are also an integral part of the evening.

【原文】M: Nice to meet you. I’m Dave from America.
W: Nice to meet you too. I’m He Wei from China.
M: China. It’s a great country. I’m interested in Chinese festivals especially the Spring Festival.
W: Really Well, you can come to my house for the Spring Festival next year.
M: OK. Would you tell me something about the festival.
W: Of course. On the Spring Festival Eve, we always make dumplings with our family and a coin is put in a dumpling. The person eating the dumpling with a coin is lucky.
M: That’s cool. Anything else
W: At the Spring Festival, we Chinese always visit relatives and give gifts to each other.
M: Oh, I like gifts. When I get a gift, can I open it right now
W: In China, you shouldn’t open the gift at once. You should wait and open it later.
M: Really It’s interesting. Thank you for telling me so much.
