The most iconic animal of China by far is the panda, because it is not only a kind of rare bears but also one of the rarest animals in the whole world.
Giant pandas have a large black-and-white body with a big round face and two black eye patches. They live in temperate-zone bamboo forests in south-western China and are generally quite shy. However, They have been known to attack people although this is a very rare occurrence . So pandas are not cuddly toys but are wild animals and should not be approached in the wild.
Since it is regarded as the "national treasure", its image was chosen as the mascot of the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics. Bing Dwen Dwen, the name of the mascot, is designed in the shape of an astronaut panda.

The giant panda
Of all the animals, I like giant pandas best. The giant panda, whose home is in Sichuan Province, is known as the national treasure of China. Pandas live in the beauty of nature where they can enjoy their lives happily.
Giant pandas are very beautiful animals with black and white fur like big cats. They usually eat bamboo shoots and leaves and live in bamboo forests, where they can climb trees and play games. I like pandas because they are so lovely!
But the population of giant pandas is getting smaller and smaller. Many hunters killed them for their fur and farmers change the nature reserves to make more farmlands. I think giant pandas need our help and protection. We should take actions to protect pandas and let them live in the wild happily.
When it comes to China’s symbolic animals, the giant panda ranks the first, which is one of the rarest animals in the world. Therefore, they are referred to as national treasure of China.
Located in the Sichuan province, giant pandas mainly feed on bamboos. Black and white fur is the typical characteristic of pandas, whose adorable appearance attracts a large number of fans. Apart from their cute “dark circle”, pandas are even more eye-catching when eating and running.
Pandas are a symbol of China. Known as the national treasure of China, pandas will be also sent to other countries for a few years to maintain the friendly relationships between countries.
