一、Teaching Objectives
1. Language competence: Master new words and expressions,such as come out of, school band.
2. Cultural awareness: Be interested in learning and exploring the culture of electric music and traditional music.
3. Thinking capability: Their thinking ability will be improved through discussion.
4. Learning ability: Use different basic reading strategies correctly and express their own opinions.

1. Help students know the meaning and usage of the new words and phrases.
2. Students can develop a correct value of music.
3. Understand and analyze the boy's feelings.

the situational teaching method and the communicative teaching method.
四、Teaching procedures
Step 1 Lead in
1. Show the pictures on page 30 to 31 to the Ss and ask them to answer the following questions.
① What are they doing
② What are these people's hobbies
2. Let some Ss share their answers.
Step 2 Pre-reading (Starting out)
1. Ask Ss to search online to match their peoples with their hobbies.
2. Check the answers together.
Step 3 While - reading
1. Fast - reading
Read and find the main idea of the passage.
2. Careful - reading
Work in groups and find the answers for the following questions:
Group 1: What's the boy's hobby
What does he do
How does he feel about it
Group 2: What's the grandpa's hobby
What instrument does he play
Group 3: What do they do on the stage
Do people love their music
How does the boy feel at last
Step 4 Post - reading
1. Group work: Work in 4 groups and discuss "Everyone moves with our music".
2. Pair work: Share other music funien with your partner.
Step 5 Summary and homework
1. Teacher invites some students to make a summary for this class and makes a complement if necessary.
2. Retell the story.

Teaching reflection:
Throughout the lesson, the Ss showed great enthusiasm, actively participated in discussion and asked insightful questions.
However, I noticed some Ss struggling with unfamiliar musical terms, which highlighted
the need for clearer explanations and vocabulary support in future lessons.
Unit 2 More than fun
Understanding ideas ( Grammar & Writing )
一、Teaching objectives:
1. Language competence:
Students can acquire the sentence pattern like "there is/are..."
2. Cultural awareness:
Students can have a sense of national identity, cultural confidence, correct values and positive emotional values.
3. Thinking capability:
Students can organize their thoughts in introducing some information and their hobbies.
4. Learning ability:
Students can learn to use sentence patterns to express their own ideas and cultivate English learning interest through activities in the class.

1. Students grasp the meaning and usage of the new gramma
2. Students can use "there be" to talk with their classmates.
三、Teaching methods
the task - based language teaching approach, the situational language teaching and communicative language teaching method.
四、Teaching procedure
Step 1 Warming - up
Teacher shows the sentence a) and sentence b) in activity 5 on the screen and let Ss find one mor sentence with this structure in the reading passage.
Step 2 Presentation
1. Teacher asks Ss to observe this sentence structure and summarize the grammar rules.
2. Teacher invites some Ss to share their findings.
3. Teacher makes a complement for this grammar rule

Step 3 Practise
1. Teacher tells Ss the background information of the table in activity 6.
2. Ask Ss work in groups of 4 to describe the table using "there be", pay attention to "be".
3. Invite some Ss to present their production.
4. Work on activity 6 and 7.
Step 4 Production
1. Ask questions: a) Do you still remember that boy's hobby
b) What did they do with their hobby
Can you describe their fun moment with the hobby

2. Writing: My hobby and a fun moment in book.
3. Teacher plays a tape and let Ss take it as a modal to practise their dialogue.
4. Pair work: Introduce your hobby and fun moments to your partner, and take notes of each other.
5. Teacher invites some Ss to introduce their partners.

Step 5 Summary and Homework
1. Teacher invites a student to summarize this class.
2. 1) Must do: Write a passage about your hobby.
choose to do: Practise your dialogue after class.

Students can know the life of birds and be willing to know more kinds of birds.

Students can develop their thinking ability by learning how to help birds and hobby gives them knowledge.

Students can predict according to the information.

1. Understand how to get knowledge through a hobby.
2. Learn to use listening strategies.
3. Be confident to talk about their hobbies and knowledge with their classmates.

五、Teaching procedure
Step 1 Lead in
1. Teachers shows the picture in book (P36) on the screen and asks questions: What's the girl doing
What can people learn when watching birds
Step 2 Pre-listening
1. Students read the question in activity 1 and predict the answer.
Step 3 While - listening
1. Listen and get the main idea of dialogue.
2. Listen again and answer the following questions.
Who: When: Why:
Where: What: How:
Listen and fill in the blanks in activity 2.
Check the answer and students try to make a school news report based on the table and pictures.
5. Students read loudly after the tape.
6. Talk about how to express cause and effect.
Step 4 Post-listening
1. Pair-work (Role-play)
Student A plays interviewer
Student B plays interviewee
make a dialogue according to activity 3.
2. Group work: Talk about what you have learnt about knowledge from different hobbies.

3. Read the story again and answer the following
questions on the PPT.
Step 3 While-writing
1. Pair work and find out the answers.

2. Drafting: Students write a draft of their passage based on their pair work.
3. Self-editing: Students make up a composition and self-editing.
4. Peer-editing: Students exchange their compositions and evaluate each other.
5. Teacher selects some writing compositions to present in public and comments.
Step 4 Summary and homework
1. Invite one student to make a summary and make a complement if possible.
2. Polish your writing and hand in.
