a lot of = lots of
许多，很多，修饰名词，既能跟
可数名词的复数，也能跟不可数名词。

用来修饰比较级better
能用来修饰比较级的词有：much, a lot, lots, a bit, a little, rather, far, by far, a great deal, any, still, even 等
eg. He is much taller than his brother.
他比他的兄弟高得多。

情况正在好转。

是现在进行时，
现在进行时的结构是 am/ is/ are doing
eg. Look! They are reading over there under the tree.
看！他们在那边的树底下看书。
