1. News Report: Wenchuan Earthquake
Good morning. Today is 13 May. A huge earthquake hit Wenchuan, China at 14:28 yesterday afternoon (12 May).
The quake registered a magnitude of 7.8 (or 8.0), and by today, at least 8,500 people have been killed. Rescue efforts have been quickly organised: medical teams, troops, and volunteers are already on-site to assist with search and relief work.

2. News Report: Alberta Wildfire
Good morning. Today is 5 May. A serious wildfire broke out in Alberta, Canada on 1 May.
So far, the fire has destroyed 2,400 homes, and almost 88,000 local residents have been evacuated to safety. Hundreds of firefighters have arrived to contain the blaze, with planes and helicopters supporting the operation. Fortunately, no deaths or injuries have been reported from this disaster.

3. News Report: Colombo Flood
Good morning. Today is 10 May. A severe flood has been affecting Colombo, Sri Lanka since early May.
The disaster has caused 82 deaths and impacted around 500,000 people. Rescue teams are on the ground providing essential supplies like food and water, and the government has set up shelters to accommodate those displaced by the flood.
