Idioms (习语,习惯用语) are often used in the English language. The meanings of some idioms can be guessed, like “eat like a bird”. However, many others need to be studied and remembered, like “for good”
Simile (明喻) is a frequently-used rhetorical device(修辞手法), which often uses the words “like”or ”as” to directly show the similarity among things. For example, “a face like a mask”or “as white as snow”
