Volunteering brings warmth to both helpers and those being helped. During last winter
vacation, I joined a volunteer program at our city's animal shelter, which turned out to be an
unforgettable experience.
At the shelter, my main duty was feeding the dogs and cleaning their living areas. At first,
some big dogs scared me, and the cleaning work was tiring. But the staff taught me how to
approach animals gently, and soon I made friends with them. The happiest moment was when
abandoned puppies started wagging their tails at me.
This experience taught me that love and care can change lives. Not only did I help animals in
need, but they also taught me about responsibility and compassion. I hope more people will
join volunteer work to make our world better.
