Li Lin: Sure. I volunteered at a local nursing home. I started after the final exams and I enjoyed it.
Host: What did you do there
Li Lin: I helped the elderly with daily activities like walking, talking, or playing games. Sometimes, I read or just chatted with them.
Host: That sounds lovely. What was your favourite part
Li Lin: When I visited the seniors, they were so happy. I felt happy too. They enjoyed talking with me. Just spending a little bit of time with them could make their day.
Host: That’s very kind of you. Did you face any challenges at the nursing home
Li Lin: Yes. Sometimes it was hard to communicate with some of the elderly people because of their health problems. The workers there taught me how to best support them.
Host: I can imagine. How did you feel about this work
Li Lin: It helped me become more patient and understanding. The elderly liked to share their life experiences and wisdom with me. I learned a lot there and I think my life is richer for it.

face challenges指遇到困难、难题等需要去应对的情况。

讲解:
主语 + face + challenges,可在 challenges 前添加形容词等修饰成分。
