Mao Kun map(《茅坤图》), usually referred to in modern Chinese sources as Zheng He's Navigation Map, is a set of navigation charts. The book was compiled by Mao Yuanyi in 1621 and published in 1628; the name of the map refers to his grandfather Mao Kun from whose library the map is likely to have originated. The map is often regarded as a surviving document from the expeditions of Zheng He.

What helped prove that the records of Zheng He’s voyages were not legends
Experts estimate that a construction site in Nanjing, where hundreds of shipbuilding tools have been unearthed, contains the remains of a shipyard that built vessels for one of China's greatest navigators, Zheng He.
Zhao Zhigang, an expert on ancient ships, said the construction site‘s location matches a description in The History of LongJiang Shipyard (《龙江船厂史》), a book written during the Ming Dynasty.
